Stayed here in late October 2014. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel is old but has been done up. Could not fault the place at all especially for the price. If you don't like this hotel never visit France. We were at the end of holiday season and all was very quiet in the area, Meals were... More

The rooms are small, but the view to the Rhein is fabulous. Breakfast is included. Everything was fresh, and though it is continental-style, the scrambled eggs were good and plentiful. This is not a hotel with a restaurant open to the regular public. People who complained should realize that no menu was posted anywhere. This hotel offers prices for rooms... More

Rhine valley lovely, hotel good posistion, but food and miserable hotel owner spoilt the holiday. Our room was clean, beds comfortable and lots of hot water but the food was unappetising and poor quality, we didnt expect the Ritz but it came as a shock even after reading the reviews before we departed. Our driver Brian excellent and good trips... More

Stayed as part of coach party with Caledonian travel. My advice is don't book if this is going to be your hotel. The location is great and the rooms were clean and comfortable but everything else was awful. Breakfast was OK, continental, but resorted to eating out for evening meal. Hotel meal was terrible and any request for water with... More

Lovely location, overlooking the beautiful Rhine Valley and the hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, and towels changed regularly ( daily ) during the stay, hence the two 'stars'. However, staff were surly and unhelpful and if you're English you're made to feel like second-class citizens. Food is buffet service, if I can call it that, was very poor and... More

The hotel is very old and needs a big renovation works. We have been in the backyards bedrooms (rooms 400's). Unpleasant sunroof (it’s not a sunroof anymore… and no gardens down but a debris corner) We checked-in in the afternoon and the reception didn’t explained that if you arrive late at night you will find the doors closed! We couldn't... More

Holiday ruined by host making us feel unwelcome. Food disgusting swine meat (pork) every night, free bar where he could not give the warm cloudy lager away for nothing. Caledonian Holidays, Dawn refused to accept complaint over phone and refused to help us. All complaints in writing which meant they dumped us in every sense. To late to make our... More

when we arrived we felt completely unwanted as soon as we walked through the door. the owner treated everyone like dirt... rooms were fine (apart from the mattresses) cleaners were fine, and the crazy waiter was good fun but what could be a great hotel in a great location was ruined by the horrible service from the owners who shouted... We have just returned from an 8 day coach tour to this hotel with Caledonian Travel from Scotland, we had a great team of people on the coach and the driver Davie was amazing, the same could not be said for the management and staff at the hotel, it was diabolical, you had to be there to understand how bad...
