I stayed here recently with my partner and we felt extremely welcome; the cake & tea upon arrival were most enjoyable. Carole was most welcoming and went to effort to accommodate our food preferences at breakfast, thank you! We look forward to returning soon as it is a fabulous way to break up the journey SouthWest on the A303! We'll... More

An old early Georgian House with many original features. The Lavender room is furnished in what appeared to be old pieces of French furniture. The bed linen was of good quality but the washstand with a marble top had candle wax over it which had not been removed for some time by the look of it. There were a few... More

I returned to Wiltshire recently during another family crisis and once again Durrington House was a haven of peace and relaxation - a refuge from the trauma indeed. All was as it should be in terms of the accommodation (large tastefully decorated bedroom, huge bed with snuggle-up bedding to be wrapped in), breakfast (including delicious homemade preserves from fruits from the... Our hostess greeted us with tea and home made cake in the drawing room. Then we played in the sauna which, while small, is effective with great beauty products and candles. We had been recommended a nearby gastro pub/restaurant which really lived up to its advance press - Durrington House knows its stuff. Coming home in the cold and snow,... More

We stayed for one night as a family with teenage children and found the B&B to be very welcoming with tea & homemade fruit cake on arrival in the lovely drawing room. The hosts were very friendly helping us with directions to a nearby country pub and they were very attentive throughout our short stay.

This was actually a return trip, having found refuge there earlier in the year when having to visit the village for a family crisis. Then it was a most welcome haven of peace over a fraught few days - the return was for the pure pleasure of staying there! Carole was a marvellous host(ess?) - warm, friendly, amusing, ready to... A very welcome break after a long drive along the A303. Large and beautifully decorated room with view of the fine garden on one side and the River on the other. Attention to detail throughout with lots of special touches. No bland modernity here. Flowers from the garden scented the rooms. The lady of the house, accommodated my early arrival... More

We were very much looking to our break at Durrington house after reading trip advisor. We were unsure about what time to arrive so I emailed Carole and she said she would be there after three. We did arrive at about two minutes to three to be greeted by our host eating and there was a hoover in the hallway... More

We stayed with Carole at Durrington House for 2 nights. The house and rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. The meals were substantial and most enjoyable. The use of home grown produce in the meals was to a very high standard. The welcoming afternoon tea was much appreciated after a long journey. Overall, the location is very good for a... More
