We arrived late at night and were cheerfully directed to our suite by Dave, who stopped by a few minutes later to make sure our keys were working. The suite was lovely. It had a stunning view of the ocean, complete with Arbutus trees, herons and other birdlife. Very well equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, range, dishwasher, washer dryer, and... More

Do not, for any reason book a room above the restaurant. If you walk onto the balcony, you are greeted with the stares of almost everyone in the restaurant. It's only 1 floor above it! Not to mention the constant noise from the restaurant... and on a hot summer day you'd want your window open so it really made that... More

Hi Bob, Thank you for giving our Bennett Bay Bistro an excellent review. With respect to the hotel rooms, they do look over our restaurant deck and yes the restaurant deck can be a little noisy on busy summer days, usually weekends. Some guests enjoy the buzz and activity (I certainly do) others perhaps not so much so we try... More

Well a first time getaway to Mayne Island was fantastic. We were picked up at the ferry dock by one of the helpful owners of the lodge. We planned a couple of days of walking and hiking and we did that plus a whole lot more. There were some free bikes to use at the lodge so we managed to... More

Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. At booking was encouraged to upgrade to cabin for my mom (88yrs) to have better access. Cabin was right on the water - spectacular views and lots of space to sleep 3 or 4 people. Cabins are very new and modern and still blend into the beautiful scenery - lots of wildlife right... More

Our suite overlooked Bennett Bay. We watched the eagles, osprey, turkey vultures and other birds soar over the Bay from our patio while we sipped on our wine. One day was spent kayaking down to Saturna Island and the next day we explored the many hiking and walking trails. The resort staff is very accommodating and let us check in... More

Hi traveltips621, thanks for taking the time to write a review. I am happy you enjoyed the wildlife viewing from your ocean side suite. Speaking of wildlife you may also have noticed the bird nesting boxes on top of the pilings at the end of our dock. These boxes are part of the BC Purple Martin Stewardship and Recovery Program... Our stay at the Mayne Island Resort was soul soothing. We woke up each morning in our cozy hotel room listening to beautiful bird songs and being warmed by the rising sun. The view of Bennett Bay and surrounding islands was stunning. We fully enjoyed the games room, swimming pool and hot tub and delicious food at the Bennett Bay... More

When it's time to recharge your batteries, a stay at the Mayne Island Resort is just the ticket-and getting there is half the fun? You can catch the Ferry in from the Vancouver side or head over from the Victoria side like I do. Mayne Island is a quaint, quiet little community with some great trails and awesome views! Hi Brad, thanks for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I can really relate to your "fortress of solitude" analogy.
