We planned our 35 wedding anniversary vacation for months and thought Prancing Horse Retreat would be a great place to start our celebration. When we arrived at the exact time we said we would, the owners were not present. The young employee was very nice, but was not aware of what room we were supposed to be in, even though... More

Spent a couple of nights here to celebrate wife's birthday. An amazing, peaceful escape which we thoroughly enjoyed. Al & Elaine were great hosts opening up their home and provided just amazing breakfasts too. We aren't talking a couple bagels and fruit for breakfast, but a full country style breakfast - over the 2 days, we enjoyed banana pancakes, omelettes,... More

This B&B is located up on a hill beside a highway, therefore a little noisy during the day, but quiet at night.Very good bed and room fully equipped with everything what needed. Free small bottle of wine and good fresh cooked breakfast. Whirlpool with view outside. Would stay there again if in the area once more. Al and Elaine are... More

I picked this place off the Internet because of the view down the Sound. Photos can be, shall we say, carefully staged; but this one is real. Clean, comfortable, by B.C. prices very reasonable. Host/Hostess are neat people. Your morning omelet eggs come from the farm. I commented on their excellent taste, and when we left, host gave us a... More

The Prancing Horse Retreat is tucked away from the urban chaos our family is so used to. The view is breathtaking and the suites (we stayed in both Deluxe #3 and Luxury #4) are cozy and comfortable - it honestly feels like you're staying in an extended family's home. Alan and Elaine are the loveliest hosts; both are incredibly friendly... More

It was so perfect...the setting, the room, the food all excellent. Elaine and Alan were perfect and so willing to please us and help us have a terrific time for our 3 days and nights. Loved Louie the cute cat, and animals at the farm.

Pictures can be deceiving but not here. A 180 degree view of the bay is viewed from the B&B. Alan and Elaine are splendid hosts who go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. Clean ,comfortable, luxury accommodations with off street parking. Breakfast is served on the terrace weather permitting and is fabulous. Easy access... More
