We visited the Claramount Inn on August 24th and planned to stay for 2 nights. We stayed in the Claraview Cottage, located across the street from the main house. We were travelling with our 2 1/2 year old daughter and were only offered the cottage because children aren't allowed in the main house. We had a gift certificate to spend... More

A horrific experience: a filthy and run down property with aggressively rude staff and management. The spa change room was dirty and covered in hair. The robe they gave my daughter was sticky with wax and someone else’s pubic hair. When we complained, the response was "We have other clients, and we clean at the end of the day." DON’T... More

This is a beautiful property and mansion on the exterior, but its maintenance and fittings leave something to be desired. First, the rug in our large suite (#2)was badly stained and other signs of sloppiness. Second, the shower head was inadequate for anyone wanting a shower (in a second smaller room in the new carriage house (#8)--our first suite was... More

My husband and I spent a July weekend at Claramount Inn. We booked suite 5 which was perfect. It is on the upper floor and has its own private staircase. The suite is nicely appointed and large. There is a sitting room a desk area and another antique couch across from the comfy king size bed. The room is surrounded... More

The Positive: beautiful colonial building with well groomed front-yard ; nice location with sloped backyard-garden leading to the South side of Picton marina; spacious and clean rooms; inviting pool area; nice dining room with small but well balanced and creative menu showcasing local fresh ingredients. The Negative: lack of proper maintenance of the building's exterior; mediocre choice of rugs, window... More

After a week out cycling and sleeping in a tent with the Grand Tour Vélo Québec, we were craving for a comfortable room for one night. Ours was waiting for us at the Claramount. My overall experience was good because the room as big as expected, the bed comfortable and the food absolutely delicious. Best seafood pasta I had in... More

One of the best meals I have ever had. The Pork Tenderloin was exquisite - the most flavourful taste experience. The Balsamic vinaigrette on the beet and chèvre salad was mellow yet filled my palate with wonderful flavour and the key lime pie is spectacular. (Rikki is a fabulous waiter too)

My husband and I have stayed at the Claramount Inn 5 times over the past decade, and our 2-night visit there in July 2014 will be our LAST... Once upon a time the Claramount WAS a nice place to stay...however, finding lipstick on alleged "clean" coffee mugs at breakfast and having to point that out to serving staff; being 'serenaded'... We recently stayed at Prince Edward County for a weekend and stayed at the Claramount Hotel. We stayed with our friends and had rooms 6 and 7, both rooms were very big (suites really). The room itself was clean, tidy and had everything you would need. The location of the hotel was good, only a short walk into Picton itself... More

My experience at the Claramount yesterday was 5star excellence. I had a one hour swedish massage treatment from Rita and it was the best I've ever experienced; and that includes similar treatment from Ste. Annes's spa, Shaw Spa in Niagara on the Lake, and Toronto spas: the Elmwood, The King Edward Hotel, and the Royal York Hotel Health Club, to... More
