We stayed at the Merrill in the fall 2008 and decided to come back in the spring, thanks to the email offer follow-up before Christmas (a nice gifgt from my husband)by the hotel. The hosts really know how to make guests comfortable! The restaurant on the premises allow you to drink and not drive, a real plus. And the chef... more

Thank-you for your nice compliments and comments in your Trip Advisor review. We appreciate your effort intaking the extra time to evaluate our service. We noticed that your ratings in the fill-in-the-dot sections of the review indicates a less than satisfactory stay. As this section affects the overall rating of the Inn we would appreciate it if you could have...

The last time I stayed in htis area I stayed at the Isaiah Tubbs Inn. It was horrible. One of their staff mambers jokingly suggested I stay at the Merrill Inn, as she felt it was worse than the Isaiah Tubbs. Well, she was wrong! The Merrill Inn is clean, comfortable, has a friendy staff and great food! My room... more

As B&B operators ourselves, we're always looking for Inns that live up to our high standards and the Merrill Inn surpassed our expectations. The Inn itself is beautiful and the rooms are impressive but it is the food that sets the Merrill Inn apart. It has an excellent dining room serving both breakfasts and dinners featuring locally grown and produced... more

We were really unlucky to get Room 105. I don't think the inn should be using this room as a guest room, as it is so tiny and stuffy. It was really not worth the money we paid for it. The issues we had were with mainly with noise and ventilation. After midnight, we were awakened by the scraping of... more

We had a lovely 2-night getaway at the Merrill Inn. The inn is beautiful, and the innkeeper was very helpful in offering suggestions as to how we should spend our time. We had one dinner at the restaurant in the Merrill Inn and it was fantastic. The chef was excellent and the service very professional. I recommend this place for... more

The review dates back, but since I have benefited from TripAdvisor a lot recently I feel that I owe a review of this Inn. We stayed two nights just for a romantic getaway, but felt that it was not worth the price we paid. The inn and the rooms were clean, but there was nothing special about it, the surroundings... more

This was our first time staying at the Merrill Inn. We are not victorian / Inn people..we like modern but prepared ourselves for "old". Check in was a breeze but upon learning our room was on the third floor were a bit put off that there was no help for bags...Thank goodness we both work out...The room was probably less... more

We spent our 25th anniversery at the Merrill Inn in Picton and had the most fantastic time. The chef is truly gifted. The dinner was outstanding. The duck was so tender it melted in our mouth. Our complementary breakfast was really nice on the terrace amongst tall trees and gorgeous gardens. The couple that run the Inn, Edward Shubert and... more

The Food was ok, but not even close to what the innkeepers said it would be. The room was cozy but we were a little dissappointed after we toured the Clairmount Inn. Its obvious that we should have spent our weekend at the Clairmount and not the Merrill Inn ( better food, service and professionalism) more

Very professional hosts with a lot of experience in the industry, but they do not distance themselves from you. Everything is taken care of. We had front room on ground floor - no noise from street. more
