Thanks to the breathtakingly beautiful ocean setting...just feet from most of the sites...we enjoyed wildlife galore, kayaking which is great for surfing or just cruising, swimming on the sandy beach, fishing for halibut, coho & sockeye salmon and sitting around a warm cozy campfire. Hosts Lori and Curtis made our visit most memorable with their friendly "helping hands". This is... More

We can't gush about Mussel beach enough - there are no airs, no graces just the beautiful outdoors. So please don't tell too many people! It's very rustic, remote and peaceful. We pitched on a great clean spot with a picnic table and woke up steps from the beach - a bald eagle a few metres away tucking into a... More

We had a good time, it is beautiful and the owners are great. But it is a quite a way down a one-way dirt pot-holed road. But yeah it is a wildness experience after all. We did go in May 2014 and the road was not good and the road along the grounds was particular muddy and bumpy...more than usual... More

we have stayed here twice in 5 years. Once we camped and this time we rented a sleeping cabin. You get a very laidback but supervised beach camp where you will see bears, seals, and a rocky beach front with lots of hiking. Yes there is sand too. Hidden down a logging road, it is a mellow place to camp.... More

Well, let me just say this. .all the reviews are spot on. So nice camping right on the beach. The showers are hot and not coin operated. Which I really loved. It was like showering outside in a wooden spa. Amazing!!So very unique. Mussel beach, its where its at. An oasis hidden down a gravel road to soothe your soul and... More

Most relaxing campground I have ever been to,walked along the beach for hours found some beach caves ,owners were really great we had a big group about 20 of us they gave us three three big sites way down the beach so we didn't have to worry about being to loud, had a big fire one night and Lori brought... Loved the campground, a long drive but well worth it. Very friendly owners. Even in the rain! We started tenting but they let us stay in the cabins.... Beautiful beach... we will be back! It was rainy but still great, found lots of treasures on the beach.

GREAT campground, fabulous coastal views, very friendly and helpful service. We came as family of three (10 year old son) plus two grandparents - we all enjoyed our time immensely (despite the rain! we also had couple days of sun). Really do hope to come again. Friendly service with time to chat.

Having stayed at a number of campgrounds on the west coast of Vancouver Island, I can say that without a doubt this is the place to go if you want to experience all the best the island has to offer. Mussell Beach is off the beaten path (literally) so it is less travelled and more remote than any of the... More

Was out here a couple years ago (August 2011), and it was by far the best camping experience I have ever had. Sites are large and private, and all are very beautiful. Our site was close to the water and had trees lining the site, with a private path to the ocean. We spent most of our days walking out... More
