Mussel Beach is a wilderness campsite on a pristine waterfront accessed down 8km (20-30mins) of gravel logging roads, i.e. drive SLOW. This part will not be for everyone, but was exactly what we were looking for. It is a really special spot; the beachfront offers tremendously varied terrain from soft sand and surf to craggy boulderscapes to glacial rock face... More

We started camping at Mussel Beach Three Summers Ago. It is the BEST kept secret on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Hosts are great and they have always gone out of their way for our family. They treat our kids great and will always offer to chip in when there is something awry in our RV or gear.... More

We have been travelling to the west coast for 30 years. 5 years ago we discovered Mussel Beach and honestly we not only fell in love with the beach but we found Lori and Curtis to be amazing hosts willing to go above and beyond for their customers. The facilities are always well cared for, clean and there's a mutual... More

The campground is beautiful with a beautiful beach to explore. I really enjoyed playing in the tidal pools with my daughter and the rest of my family I was camping with. That being said, our experience with the grounds keeper (he may be an owner) on three separate occasions (all were silly like where to wash our wet suits) was... More

I do believe the main issue was the speed limits. Mussel Beach is a family campground and as managers one of our responsibilities is to ensure a safe place for families to play, ride bikes, walk etc. thru the campground. We do however come across a few campers that have difficulties following the guidelines posted for ensure safety for all.... More

What a beautiful place. My husband and I drove up from Victoria looking for a campsite in Tofino and were appalled by the prices so headed to Uclulet exploring. Thank god we took the turn down the long gravel road to Mussel Beach. The campsite is great, location is amazing, and the owners are wonderful. Thanks for everything!

We stumbled upon this place when having no luck looking for a place to camp in Tofino. They were able to accommodate our group at the last minute. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Be warned that the drive down is on a very rough road but it was worth it for the great spot. My kids loved walking... More

We discovered this lovely campground a few years ago and now we return every year. The views are stunning, the owners are friendly and helpful and the campground is clean and well run. Make sure you call to make a reservation and be prepared to take out all your garbage etc. I would recommend Mussel Beach to anyone asks

My husband and I moved to Ucluelet a few months ago. We hadn't explored Mussel Beach and took a drive out yesterday. It was late around 7:00pm we looked for a place to park, there were lots of spaces around and we were just going to take a walk and check it out. We parked where there was a picnic... More

We are a business that is true and we (like all other campgrounds) require that guest check in at the office. We do have signs as you enter the campground asking everyone to check in, whether you are camping or just visiting. One of the reasons we require people to check in is to instruct them where to park so... More

I loved this campground, our site was overlooking the ocean and we could walk right out at low tide and look at all the sea creatures. Had a nice fire right on the sand one night, it was perfect. The only negative thing I have to say is that the owner was a jerk and said some inappropriate things towards... More

An absolutely fantastic campground - well worth the effort! My cousin and I stayed for 2 nights on a private campsite. The campsites are a good size, with vegetation growing in between the sites and opening right on to the beach. The campground is a wilderness one - so don't expect a ton of amenities. Getting to the campsite requires... More
