We stumbled upon this place when having no luck looking for a place to camp in Tofino. They were able to accommodate our group at the last minute. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Be warned that the drive down is on a very rough road but it was worth it for the great spot. My kids loved walking... More

We discovered this lovely campground a few years ago and now we return every year. The views are stunning, the owners are friendly and helpful and the campground is clean and well run. Make sure you call to make a reservation and be prepared to take out all your garbage etc. I would recommend Mussel Beach to anyone asks

My husband and I moved to Ucluelet a few months ago. We hadn't explored Mussel Beach and took a drive out yesterday. It was late around 7:00pm we looked for a place to park, there were lots of spaces around and we were just going to take a walk and check it out. We parked where there was a picnic... More

We are a business that is true and we (like all other campgrounds) require that guest check in at the office. We do have signs as you enter the campground asking everyone to check in, whether you are camping or just visiting. One of the reasons we require people to check in is to instruct them where to park so... More

I loved this campground, our site was overlooking the ocean and we could walk right out at low tide and look at all the sea creatures. Had a nice fire right on the sand one night, it was perfect. The only negative thing I have to say is that the owner was a jerk and said some inappropriate things towards... More

An absolutely fantastic campground - well worth the effort! My cousin and I stayed for 2 nights on a private campsite. The campsites are a good size, with vegetation growing in between the sites and opening right on to the beach. The campground is a wilderness one - so don't expect a ton of amenities. Getting to the campsite requires... More

Stayed in one of the 'private' ocean view camping pitches. To get there it's a long drive (circa 10km) along a gravel track...we would've probably turned around had it not been for the hope that it was 'round the next corner'. Eventually it was. Not a huge amount to do except chill out, but we really enjoyed our stay -... More

This place is like 30 min of Gravel and really bad road. When we arrive, we not feel welcome ( the owner was impolite). If it was not of the 30 min road we have turn around. DONT GO THERE.............camping site rocky, bad indication, smell toilet on the site, no drikable water

Sorry to hear your experience at Mussel Beach was not a good one. To respond to some of the issues you mentioned. We are a wilderness campground and unfortunately to get to us we are down a 8km logging road which we try to maintain. We post in on our website and brochure the fact that we do not have... More

This was our first time at Mussel Beach, and loved it! This has become a must go back every year to camp tradition spot. Beautiful spot right on a big beach, with tidal pools for the kids to play in and very nice for beach combing and hiking. We loved how family friendly it was and quite (no loud Drunks).... More

My Family and I loved it! This place has become a must go back, a new yearly traditional camping spot. Beautiful location right on the ocean, tidal pools for kids to play in and catch anything, big area for beach combing and hiking. We found it very clean, perfect for us because it was quite at night (no loud drunks).... More

My 2 children, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in the family cabin at Mussel beach. It was quiet, serene, and the best rugged outdoor experience for the area. We would recommend it to those that don't want to stay in a cheezy LOUD resort, and we will return.
