Can't believe that they call this a hotel. The front door locks at 11 and there is nobody running this zoo until the next morning. Stayed overnight here on way home to Ontario. Very interesting stay. The permafrost is coming out of the ground, so the building is settling and sinking at different rates. Expensive but par for the area. Same for the restaurant. Smoking rooms available. Ok for a night stay, wouldn't want to stay any longer.

I have been staying in the Navigator Inn for just under 30 years. Sometimes, when we just popped in it was necessary to stay in another hotel close by. Stayed here a couple of times before but always just overnight. It IS very close to the airport (300 metres ?) and in winter that can be a major plus (think -30C) and winter is very long up there. I stayed twice at the Navigator, two weeks apart, on my way through to Cambridge Bay and on my way back to Ottawa. I enjoyed my stay. I found the staff pleasant and helpful. Brace yourselves. This is a short novel about the Navigator Inn in Iqaluit.
