Friendly people, clean, great location, great beach but the cabins need to be majorly updated. For the cost to stay here they are very lacking in keeping it up to date. Very over-priced. $800 for a weekend is outrageous compared to what they offer and how out dated this place is! wifi doesnt work either.

We came up to Halimar with 3 other families, all of have 6 kids aged 4 to 7. My family stayed in cabin #18. Here's the pros and cons of our visit: PROs: - amazing range of amenities. The playground and pool are in the middle of the resort so you can almost always see where your kids are playing.... More

could be a good place but no staff..no food on site ..also very outdated looking main room and buildings. owner is friendly but looks like there is no passion or effort but in the place ...would not return not much for kids to do in the winter outdoors..no sled hills or any equipment to use to do any activities.

We travelled with several other families to this resort for a weekend. The owners were kind and hospitable. We LOVED the main "lodge" area. Plenty of activities for the kids. Ping pong, pool, air hockey, and so much more. This was perfect because the temperatures were too cold for the kids to play outside. We had the opportunity to view... More

The cottage was spotlessly clean but the decor was tacky and outdated (right down to the VHS player. That's right, no DVD's here) The lake was beautiful but what I suspect were once beautiful gardens are now riddled with weeds and grass. The supposed "lovely view of the lake" from my deck was almost non existent due to the overgrown... More

We stayed at Halimar recently for a girlfriend's getaway. First, the positives: - Lovely setting on a beautiful lake. (You will hear the loons calling at night). - Very quiet, as it's a small resort. - VERY roomy and clean cottage suite with a nice wood-burning fireplace (which came in handy as the weather was unseasonably cool). - Nice view... Decor was average View of the lake was good. The first night I there were big ants crawling up my,leg. When I called the management,I got the impression that i was imposing. They placed 3 ant traps in the bathroom and never followed up. The third day I told them the ant problem was still there. They put some poison... More

Absolutely loved it. Gorgeous view of the lake, beautiful scenery, great cottage, felt like our own little hideaway. Very relaxing, enjoyed the fireplace. Everything we needed in a getaway, very accomodating owners and staff.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in December and had an amazing time! We stayed in a cute, cozy but better yet very clean cottage. We had a great view of the lake, a jacuzzi in our room and a wood burning fireplace. The staff were so friendly and made us feel like we were spending time... More
