The camping area is very nice.. right next to the river where you can walk on the rocks and attemp to fish(catch and release).. There are toilets and showers with hot water. The campsite is small so it will not get overcrowded.. My daughter (6years) and I went on the horses to see the falls and the ride is definitely... More

We had a fantastic time at the lodge with great hiking opportunities and nature galore. The new road leading to the lodge makes it easy to get there. After a long days hike to the magnificent waterfall we did relax at the river and were treated with the best food by Chef David. The hosts as well as the local... More

What is there to say but 'heaven on earth', this place had it all for us. The place, the locals, the scenery, the restaurant, the waterfall. etc. A step back in time and an inspiration. If you visit Semonkong get out into the community, go up to the town, meet the locals they are enchanting. Spend money at their stalls,... More

We had a wonderful room in one of the rondavels at the top of the lodge. They require climbing some stairs, but once you are there you can enjoy a fantastic view. The rondavel was very spacious and clean, it only lacked a few more furnitures which according to the management are still due to come. The place is being... More

My daughter and I spent 2 days/nights there in January. Unfortunately, the drought has had a huge impact on the ability to grow food, but also the waterfall that walked to see (from a distance) was not even visible. Ironically, when we arrived it was raining which brought in a chill as well. The accommodations are decent--we stayed in the... More

We visited first as a family of six adults on a day trip from Maseru. We ate on the terrace and rode horses (Bosotho "ponies") to the waterfall. The horses were gentle and generally well behaved. The horses are leased from local villagers. Our guides were helpful and helmets were provided. My second visit was at the conclusion of a... More

The most impressive bit of the Semonkong Lodge was how the owners utilised the community for activities. The locals are warm and friendly. The donkey pub crawl is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Loads of fun. Met new people and learnt some Sesotho.

I took my family of 5 to Semonkong for the abseil (rappel) and it didn't disappoint. Wonderful time, great food in their restaurant, and excellent instruction on the abseil! We were there in the off-season, not crowded at all, in fact I think there were only 2 other couples in the entire place!

A beautiful lodge nestled in the mountains of Semonkong, and a stone throw away from the famous Maletsunyane falls. One can stay in the available camp site next to the river or higher up in the cosy rondavels. Rondavels are cosy and well laid out with en an en-suite bathroom. Food is great with huge portions and all staff are... More

Semonkong lodge is a very lovable place situated by the semonkong river. It is a very calm place to relax especially after the hike to the waterfall which is also a magnificent place. I have been here like 4 times and still so much love the place.
