This was our first time visiting Lesotho, and we enjoyed our stay in this lodge. Everything was well run. Service was great. The place is rustic but fitting for the environment. The restaurant serves tasty food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were able to arrange all the activities easily with the hotel. It was also easy to hike to... More

Stayed at Semonkong Lodge for 2 nights, what an amazing place: comfortable rondavels, friendly & helpful staff, well-stocked bar & delicious food from the restaurant. On top of this, you can organise all sort of outdoors activities - hiking, horse riding, etc. Definitely recommend the pony trekking to the waterfall! A suggestion for improvement: the road down from the village... More

What a treasure. Stunning attention to detail throughout, tasty and beautifully presented food. And, oh, the freshly baked bread. What a change from the indifferent lodge we stayed at previously. Just a pity about the poor state of the road to the magnificent Senongkong Falls

We had a double rondavel with fireplace (#12) and it was much nicer than the rondavels where we'd stayed at another lodge a few days before (especially the bathroom--simple but up-to-date). The room was cozy and we were thankful for the fireplace at night (the staff will ask at dinner if you'd like a fire and they will start it... More

Firstly, we would like to thank Jonathon and Mel for making a visit to Semonkong possible by owning and operating such a fantastic lodge in such a remote and magical location!! No mean feat! Our little family feels honored to have been able to visit Semonkong and it would not have been possible for us without the lodge! We found... More

We were supposed to stay here for Valentines night. We were told that they had only 'standard' rooms available. From looking at their website and reviews we assumed this would be fine. Especially as the rates are just 30LSL/Rand ($3) per person less than the other rooms. However, we had quite a surprise at the quality of the standard room.... More

Sadly just stayed just for one night, but we had a very memorable time. We were given one of the chalets at the top of the hill, so there were a bit of hiking up and down the stairways when we went for the reception or the restaurant. The chalet in itself was really really nice, comprising of a huge room... We stayed in one of the Rondevals and it was very cute with it's own bathroom. Pack lightly as you walk up quite a hill to get to the room and the way is not paved. The owners did drive our luggage up when they saw we had overpacked! The road is now paved all the way from Maseru to... More

The place is perfect for any travelers, its far from Maseru but its worth the stay, the roads are not very good but if you are on your 4X4 you wont worry. lots of activities, pony ride, horse ride, hikes, abseilin and the beautiful waterfall. we went there for a holiday and we had a great time. the food was... The area of Semonkong is stunning. The hikes themselves are maybe not as beautiful as Malealea or North-East Lesotho, but the destinations of the hikes (Maletsunyane Falls, etc.) are gorgeous. And perfect to do without a guide. That makes a hike twice as good already. De lodge is good for any kind of traveller. From camping to ensuite. Low-budget travellers... More
