Lesotho is very rustic, so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality at Semonkong. The rooms are very comfortable, the food was great and the service excellent. We loved the abseiling (highest in the world!), the guys were super professional and we felt very safe. The donkey pub-crawl is not something you can say you do every weekend, great experience... A whole new world full of adventures awaits you up there! Whether its on your mountain bike, with your trail running shoes or climbing gear (yes, there are bolted routes right next to the lodge), Semonkong will take your breath away. Great place also to chill and relax and be assured that the food up there is probably the best... More

Just back from a week in Lesotho, ending our trip at Semonkong Lodge. What a fantastic place for a holiday. From the night watchman to the manager, we experienced only friendly, helpful and smiling service - how fantastic is that! Once again, thanks to the barman who went out of his way to assist us with his cellphone (our MTN... More

Four days of pure fun, adventure and memories! Our abseil was nerve wrecking but thrilling! Such a beautiful location and abseiling down the waterfall was one of the best memories I have. We were so well taken care of by our hosts and listening to Guns & Roses Welcome to the Jungle in the land rover on the way to... More

This the most beautiful place. It offers a variety of accommodation to suit different pockets. Clean and beautifully presented with some lovely little touches that help to make it special. It is an exciting place, if you want it to be! The abseil is conducted with paramount importance on safety yet the amazing staff make you feel relaxed enough to... More

Such a wonderful place, had an amazing weekend! Cannot praise the staff, surroundings, facilities and accommodation enough! Stayed in a beautiful Rondavel, which was very warm and cosy, even though its coming into winter. Very patient staff and guides who were doing the abseil training, and made you feel very safe (brilliant for someone who was very scared). Lovely ride... More

Kind, helpfull and joyfull staff made me feel so very welcome. The way the owners participate in the community is an example to others. In all activities the community can contribute. I did the abseil, that's an absolute... More

We spent a wonderful 6 nights at this remote lodge in the small town of Semonkong. We then headed off on the 3 night pony trek into the Maletsenyane gorge to Fly Fish the river of the same name, and then back to spend the last night at the lodge. Arriving at the lodge is an adventure all on its... More

Just back from the best weekend ever at Semonkong Lodge. The accommodation was great and the staff were AMAZING! We did the abseil and the pony pub crawl, the staff totally made the experience for us. They were happy, friendly, patient and kind. Special thanks to Victor who helped me achieve the abseil which was an incredible experience that I... More

The Semonkong Lodge is like an oasis you reach after a long and somewhat difficult journey - a very worthwile effort. The rondavel style rooms are beautiful and well maintained - with a nice fireplace to keep the room warm well into the evening. The restaurant serves wonderful food - service is great. I went to the falls by car... More
