On arrival, we were warmly greeted by Izzy, tea and cake, and Bella (one of the two lovely resident dogs)! The whole property oozed charm and character, and is set on lovely grounds with amazing views. We stayed at the Yellow Room, which had a private bathroom just a few steps away. The bathroom was large, with quality towels, a... More

We stayed in the new Yellow Room last weekend, having first visited the Old Rectory just over a year ago and having promised ourselves a return to this delightful country house. If anything, it was even better. The welcome was genuinely friendly, the afternoon tea and breakfast were delicious and the room was outstanding. We cannot recommend it too highly.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay in the Green Room at the Old Rectory. From the moment we arrived our expectations were exceeded. Both the bedroom and bathroom were larger and more elegantly decorated than we'd imagined; the website and photos don't really do this place this justice it deserves. The view from our room of the garden... More

Wonderful. Peaceful spot, beautiful room, everything spotless, great hosts. And the breakfast. I do like a full English and this one has to be tasted. Even the colour of the food is different, none of the bright hues of my favourite caff, just food that looks and smells like it couldn't be fresher or more natural. Best I've had in... More

I stayed at The Old Rectory last weekend with my partner - who became my fiance after he proposed at La Becasse on the Friday night! This B&B was an absolutely perfect backdrop to a wonderful weekend, with stunning rooms (they really have thought of everything you could possibly need, and plenty that's simply a luxurious extra!), gorgeous scenery and... An exceptional B&B with wonderful views and service. Will certainly be back. Lovely dinner cooked for us on Friday night and the breakfast was very good. Lots of extra touches made for a very enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately we only spent one night at Wheathill Old Rectory. We were welcomed warmly and given a delicious cream tea. The food was superb and Lorna, who served our dinner, was so lovely. Our room, the yellow room was beautifully furnished with a really comfortable bed. Thank you Izzy and Andrew. We will back for a longer stay in the... More

We have just returned from a night away at the beautiful Old Rectory. We arrived to a warm welcome and tea & cake in the garden. It took all our strength not to eat the whole cake ourselves! It was delicious. The house and gardens are so lovely with the most amazing views. We stayed in the Green Room, which... More

Our first stay was in February 2011 and we planned our return trip even before we left! We returned in November 2012 staying in the sumptuous Green Room once again. The owners Izzy and Andy have done an amazing job turning the Old Rectory into a truly memorable place to stay. They make everyone feel so welcome not only with... More

We have just come back from two nights staying in the yellow room of this gorgeous home and are already discussing dates to come back! As everyone else has already said, the attention to detail regarding absolutely everything is fantastic and made our weekend wonderfully relaxing and comforting. The food from the delicious breakfast, to the home-made cake on arrival... More
