Stayed for weekend in April. Location is wonderful, beautiful dark skies at night, even saw a lunar eclipse two nights before it was due. The property is in surrounded by farm land so is lovely and quiet. Charlie and Julia (the hosts) are considerate, friendly and very, very helpful, They even transported us to a restaurant so that we did... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Larkbeare Grange over valentine's weekend. The storms brought down trees which scuppered our Feb 14th dinner plans. It could have been a disaster but when we returned to Larkbeare, hungry and disappointed, Charlie and Julia saved the day by offering to cook us scrambled eggs on toast, which we had in front of the... My husband booked an overnight stay at Larkbeare Grange for a surprise birthday treat, and what a lovely surprise it was! From the warm welcome to the hot home made scones in front of the fire, superbly appointed bedroom, Penhaligon toiletries, homemade shortbread, the whole experience was faultless. Julia and Charlie have created a very special place to stay and... More

Julia and Charlie welcomed us into their lovely home as though we were their best friends! Their attention to detail is hugely professional but subtle, and it was one of the best night's sleep I have had in a bed and breakfast. The bed was fantastically comfortable! Breakfast was a real treat and we very much hope to return later... More

We stayed at Larkbeare Grange for two nights as we were doing the Land rover driving experience nearby. A lovely compromise with muddy fun driving as an activity but mixed in with a relaxing romantic and luxurious weekend...so we were both very happy! Julia and Charles were fantastic hosts and the room was excellent - we had a great nights... More

What a beautiful place in a tranquil setting. Was like a taste of how I imagine the old English aristocracy live. We booked for one night. If only we could have stayed for the whole weekend! We were upgraded to the suite which was spacious but cosy. The huge bed was so comfortable, the view from the windows was serene.... More

I came to England for the first time since emigrating to Australia 23 years ago and my Mum and I stayed at Larkbeare Grange. We had a wonderful week there, Charlie and Julia are warm and welcoming and to have lovely home cooked breakfasts was a great way to start each day.

Larkbeare Grange is, without doubt, one of the loveliest B&B's you are ever likely to come across. The location is idyllic, the house & grounds are immaculate, our suite (we were upgraded) was just perfect & we really have to give a mention to Charlie's homemade apple juice, it is just amazing! We had a wonderful weekend which included a... More

A very comfortable room with everything you need. Penhalligon toiletries, tea making facilities. Current reading peridicals. Breakfast was delicious with home made jams and juice. Local produce made for a delicious breakfast. Charlie and Julia were very attentive and helpful. Friendly and efficient.

The Grange is an old property with all the mod cons you would wish for. The location is peaceful and the hosts Charlie and Julia keen to help and ensure you enjoy your stay. The cream tea on arrival was delicious and breakfast the same, complemented with their own home made preserves. The food was Devon sourced and excellent. We... More
