We could not get accomodation in Leicester itself, so settled on the Plough Inn which is in Great Leicester. Staff were friendly and parking was easy. But, overall, the Plough Inn was poor. The room had leftover smoke smell. Dinner was nothing special but breakfast was even worse with a very undercooked sausage. We pointed this out to the waitress,... More

The Plough Inn is a relaxing place to stay close to Leicester, with a friendly pub with great food, and cosy accommodation at the rear of the property. Being a history geek I also enjoyed seeing there is a knitting museum next door! Breakfast was a good English, with friendly locals joining in, to make it a perfect start to... More

Being a builder I sometimes need to work away from home,I've just arrived home after spending 9 nights at The Plough Inn while working in Leicester. Karl & Diane run a very friendly and relaxed Pub where you are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. The room was exactly what i was looking for... More

A lovely place to stay, with a great welcome from the owners and easy check in. There is a large car park at the rear of the pub with easy access to the accomodation. The room was great with nice furnishings, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and even an iron and ironing board. Large radiators in the bedroom and... More

The plough inn provided great food and friendly staff. Always felt welcomed by locals and owners. Food is good and delivered promptly to table. Great location with easy access to Wigston Village and Leicester city centre. Recently refurbished and updated. Great pub to watch the Football and Rugby. Very friendly people and locals. Provides great entertainment at weekends.

I am a local, and thank god for Jackie and team, they go the extra mile, the food is exceptional, himself say's it's the best gammon stake that he has ever had. and the staff are very friendly, not only does the team look after our Northumbrian visitors, but they are always there to look after us locals in the... Very nice place to stay, the rooms are clean and tidy and the food is great and if you are a real ale lover they had 4 real ales on which were all very good. All the staff are very welcoming without being in your face. Everything here is at least as good as you would expect for the price,... More

Decided to look for a local pub for Sunday luch and the Plough was our first choice - and there were no regrets. There were 4 adults and an 18 month old and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent - service was wonderful and the whole experience was such that we aim to repeat the... More
