I found this hotel by accident and as it was late I had no alternative choice. It looked chic, boutique and expensive but when I enquired the price was half that I expected! I had a room with a balcony overlooking the Rhein and a secure garage for my bike. I chose the cheapest option from the set dinner menu... More

We were travelling to Switzerland to visit family and found this wonderful hotel right on the Rhine river and the Swiss border. Accommodation is so much cheaper on the German side of the border as well. We had a lovely room with a verandah overlooking the Swiss side of the river. The hotel is old and charming with tons of... This is a perfect gem of a small traditional family run hotel. Its position right on the Rhein makes it particularly romantic. Just across the river is Switzerland which you reach by an ancient bridge, showing your passport! Laufenburg itself is a pretty muddle of higgledy piggledy houses, most with the external beams typical of this area. Things to do.... More

The hotel is strategically located along the Rhine. We arrived at the hotel during busy dinner time, the staff were still able to check us in quickly without problems. We had a room facing the river which was great. Breakfast was good, really enjoyed the bread. From the hotel we could easily walk across to the border to the Swiss... More

Even that you have your own room, it feels like other visitors of the hotel are very, very close to you. The walls are so thin, that you get awoken by every type of alarm, which is in the floor above you, or the guests in the rooms next door. You even hear the vibrating alarm from next door. If... We were visiting Laufenburg for the day and fancied a bite to eat at lunchtime. The menu for this hotel looked pretty decent so we thought we'd have lunch there. We wandered into the restaurant which was perhaps half-full and asked for a table for 5. The waitress said that there were no tables free at which point one of... More

Food was pretty good but not great... but used my credit card here on 7/25 (for the first time within several weeks) and the on 7/26 we started getting fraudulent charges on that card. It must have been the server.

The view on Laufenburg and the Rhine is hard to beat (lovely terrace), but the whole place is a nice mix of quality and tradition with enough of the luxuries we expect today. It has a strong "living room" feeling, it is a real family hotel, and the restaurant is allways a nice mix of locals, tourists and travelling businessman.... More

The Rebstock is THE classic place for having dinner or lunch in Laufenburg or anywhere between Bad Säckingen and Waldshut. The Rebstock is actually a small hotel but it is more known for its restaurant. Its location is great, located on the river banks of the river Rhein. The menu boasts a balanced blend of regional traditional dishes, the wine... More

The hotel is right on the banks of the Rhine--on the German side of this splendid little town which straddles the border and is part in Germany and part in Switzerland. The owners are very friendly, the prices are good and the hotel is full of charm but also VERY clean, bright and spacious. No musty smells or cracked tiles... More
