We stayed at L'Almatoit after completing the Veloroute des bluets. (We cycled from Alma to Dolbeau-Mistassini to Roberval to Alma over 3 days.) Aurelie, Vincent and their wee children were warm, welcome hosts. The house was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. We (my husband, our 19 year old daughter and I) stayed comfortably in a double room with futon and... More

Very friendly owners, made great breakfast. Rooms are nice, comfortable. House is in the peacefull neigbourhood, a couple of minutes from the center. They advised us on a restaurant in the city - food and beer were one of the best we had. Recomended for couples and families.

We arrivee here after a long day's drive from sacacome, and longed for a cup of tea or a beer. The gite is about 10 minutes walk from the village. If you want to have a drink, a coffee or tea, you will have to go to the village. The rooms are very small, there is no coffee or tea... More

this gîte is a beautiful heritage home that has been converted into a B&B. it is run by Aurélie and Vincent, with the new addition of their great entertainer, Lucas (who was 7 months at my visit), who is one of the most smiling and cheerful babies i have ever met. the rooms are ample and the bed is firm.... I enjoyed my brief stay at Almatoit, a heritage home easily located and situated near downtown Alma as well as the historic Riverbend district. Parking is available on the property. I arrived shortly before the introductory ‘happy hour’ when Jean-Guy, who is fluently bilingual, shared a complementary local microbrew and answered inquiries. My upstairs room (Bonne Affaire) with private bathroom... More

An informal, warm setting with a friendly helpful host whether you are Anglo- or Francophone. Eager to provide whatever advice you might need, and breakfast was a personally provided delight focussed on local foods, which are excellent.

This B & B was booked through the cycling company that we used to cycle Lac St. Jean. We stayed here twice, once at the start of the cycle trip and again at the end. This isn't a five star resort, but it reflects the best part of travel, meeting new people and someone who is very proud of his... More

Jean-Guy is a warm and friendly host. Historic home was comfortable and decorated with local art.
