We stayed here for 2 nights in September as part of a 19 day fly-drive around BC and Alberta. At first we wondered where on earth our travel company had sent us and what we would find to do. We were in one of the 4 roomed log chalets which were spacious and very nicely furnished with plenty of space... More

If you are after a flash five star lodge with all the mod cons then don't come here. If you a after somewhere close to the national park, quiet and cosy then this is great. We didn't have much time for this part of our trip so chose this place based on it proximity to the national park, right at... More

We were passing though Clearwater on our way to Whistler from Jasper. We hadn't booked anywhere so we went to the visitor centre to seek a recommendation. They suggested the lodge as they had just dropped prices for the fall season. We had a choice of a standard room or a log cabin for an additional $10 so we booked... More

Dear Richard Thank you for your review. We are thrilled that you found us and had a great time. The chef Cyndy is actually Canadian and as you say she does a great job . We take your comments about the internet and plan to expand the system next year so there is better coverage for all the rooms. More

We arrived at 1 pm to find a closed until 3 pm sign, really? Since when can't you check in until 3 pm? Dinner was good, service was good. Breakfast was stale bread and old fruit, not even a boiled egg, nothing hot. The rooms are a good size but the beds are the hardest I have ever slept on!... More

Every hotel has a published check out and check in time. We are sorry that you were inconvenienced by this. Our rooms have to be cleaned after check out and before they can be used again at check in. 30 of our beds are brand new and the others are being replaced over a 3 year rolling renovation program. We... More

We are 35km into Wells Gray Park from Clearwater BC. No more than a 30 minute drive and the closest property to all the attractions of the Park. With regard to the house-keeping, since all the bedding is changed every time a guest leaves, the only logical explanation is that our guest was bitten on the leg in the evening... More

Excellent setting at the entrance of the park. Rooms are small and we had to put our travel bags under the bed to have room, to pass one by one. No King or double queens available, and 1,40m is small for two persons even when you love each other. Also the bathroom is very small. The service is friendly and... More

Most of our standard rooms have 2 double beds. Our 8 log cabin rooms have 2 extra long double beds and the rooms are almost twice the size of the standard rooms, so if you need lots of space the log cabin rooms are the way to go. Our rooms all have small desks or tables and chairs and all... More

After a long beautiful drive up from whistler we were made very welcome on our arrival. We booked in and spent a couple of hours relaxing in our room, which was well decorated and very comfortable. We had booked dinner before our trip as we were aware of the remote location. There was a good choice of meals at reasonable... More

We had dinner at the restaurant of Helmcken falls lodge. The service is good, the personnel is very friendly. The food is good but somewhat under seasoned. A warm plate would be a good suggestion. The nice thing about this restaurant however, is the good athmosphere.

Besides having a difficult name to remember the price charged for one night here seems high. But one night can be enough to see all the sights and wildlife which are close to the road. The road in from clearwater is paved, scenic and takes about 20 min. Once there the lodge itself seems home built but the rooms are... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location, there is no doubting that. It is a fair way off the main road and well in to the National Park but oh boy is it disappointing. We arrived after a long day of travelling, food options here are very limited and if they aren't for you there is a long drive back... More
