The Victorian Motel is a very old motel that has been an Amherst landmark for as long as I can remember. Yes it is old. However, The motels in this town are severely overpriced for what you get. The Victorian is a reasonable price. It will give you a comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. It is in the centre of town... More

No face cloths! The room smells like furnace oil.Entry set on door does not lock & soon to fall off.Bits of tobacco in bathroom sink.Sticky substance on floor.Curtains look like burlap potato sacks & at least as old as the motel.Beyond repair ,time to be put out of its misery. At least I had a bed.

Older motel, only room in town available. Clean room, friendly staff, worth the money. Room had fridge and microwave. Smelly room, however clean. Served the purpose for only a few bucks! Definitely not the holiday inn!

NOTE: I didn't check TripAdvisor before staying here. Whoops. The good: -Lowest price in Amherst -Central location -New-ish floors in bedroom and new-ish tiling in bathroom -Good room service -Generally clean on arrival and after room service The bad (read to the end because the worst is last): -Payment is 100% upfront -No sympathy for changing plans, deciding to stay... Water on floor in room when it rained. When I asked to have it cleaned up I was given a mop and bucket so I could do it myself. Shows neglect of basic maintenance and repairs Needs new windows. Paid too much for what I got. Rooms are not noise-proof. Pro: Right downtown in beautiful Amherst NS

The place is a complete dump and I couldn't believe the bedding with cigarette burns and I just felt so dirty when I got up in the morning. Nothing has been updated to code, no working smoke detectors, heater wires were disconnected so you could use heat, fridge was not plugged in to keep anything cold, taps for shower were... More

the title is an understatement. Yes judge this place by the outside, cause the whole place is a dive! From the moment we checked in are blankets where already dirty, and had burn holes in them!!(im guessing never washed from the last 3 years). the maid service was very horrible, as im pretty sure the only thing she cleaned was... The room was clean when we booked in, however we stayed for 3 nights and our bed linen was not changed at all. When we returned to our room for the 3rd night, our used towels had been left in the tub, so it was obvious that the tub had not been cleaned. The motel office closes at 8:00 pm... More

A clean, spacious, pet friendly room with fridge and microwave and comfy beds. Outside does leave a little to be desired, but I wasn't staying outside! Good downtown location, but surprisingly quiet. Good value for money.
