The Wandlyn was okay but not good. At $107. it was overpriced. The staff however, was very good. Both the evening and morning desk people were very helpful. The main complaint was that the room was not prepared - there were not enough towels and the toilet had been used - and not flushed - before when we walked in.... More

It is an older hotel but was clean. A little worn but the price was really good. Loved the carved figures out of trees that a local gentleman did of the town's historical figures. Huge trees and painted.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a coin opperated washer and dryer available. The service was very good and the staff was friendly. Convenient location. Not fancy, but a good deal for the price.

Clean, older hotel, greatfor a one night stay as Amherst is a small town with not much to do or see. You can use them as a stop over on your travels through the northern part of Nova Scotia. The food in the restaurant was exceptional, the service was beyond reproachh. All in all a pleasant stay.

As other reviewers say, the hotel is dated, which I think is somewhat charming. It doesn't try too hard to be something it's not; it's a throwback to another time when you drove up to your room and it didn't need to be fancy. The carpets are nearing the end of their life, but the customer service was great. I... More

Booked this online having been described as a hotel. It's not - it is a Motel - room has a door to exterior as well as interior. However it was clean and comfortable. Convienient right off Trans Canada highway and close to lots of attractions. It was central for us for our trip to Prince Edward Island, Moncton and St.... More

The staff was lovely and the wifi was strong. The room was clean and otherwise average. The AC unit worked hard to keep the inside temp lower than the outside temp. Located very close to the transcanada highway. Perfect for a night enroute, but one to stay and enjoy the neighbourhood. Breakfast was good, better than a regular continental but... More

My wife, another couple and myself decided to take in some of the beauty of Nova Scotia and travel its shores and a couple of wineries. We picked this motel as our base for the first night, but after that first night decided to stay two as to the immediate surrounding area was beautiful and the motel surpassed our expectations... The staff are so friendly and helpful, and obviously devoted to their jobs. They really go out of their way. Good things about the room - the windows open, comfortable bed, blackout curtains... Not so good things - crummy shower in a cold bathroom, no movie channel, laggy wifi. The restaurant was amazing for lunch/dinner - consistently excellent meals and... More

Great staff, everything else is just plain awful! I just recently attended a conference there, and the staff brought the same gross dried sandwiches all three days of our conference!! The restaurant's food is not too bad, but this place just plain needs an update. My room looked like it had been updated a few years ago, but the main... More
