The exterior is sadly not representative of the interior of the house. The entire house has a very nice warm and cozy atmosphere. For our taste however, we found there was a little clutter, for example on the mantles. (but we may be picky). We had the Josephine suite and it was wonderful; the size of the room as well... More

Walking distance from center of Amherst, you will open the door to a Victorian mansion, with original immaculately restored wood floors and staircases. The rooms are tastefully Victorian, bathrooms have been remodeled. Our trip was in August of 2013, yet as I write on a cold December morning, I still have memories of the French Toast with blueberries - best... More

A great place to stay! Beautifully restored Victorian mansion - our room was amazing - had a great sleep on a gigantic bed! The breakfast was delicious, served by our host Colin! Margaret, your recommendation of a restaurant was great - thanks! We would definitely stay again - and this time, Margaret, I would love to join you for a... More

My husband & I have stayed at B & B's from Newfoundland, across Canada to Vancouver Island since 1990. We are lucky that we have never had a bad experience so far. Manor Rhodes B & B has definitely made it to the top of our list as to what a super B & B is. We had the pleasure... More

This B&B is located in a former Canadian senator's residence, which has been carefully and extensively restored and filled with all manner of antiques. It sits on a treed large corner lot, set back from the street. Our night's sleep, between elegant sheets, on a comfortable mattress was restful and refreshing, in large part because of the quiet location in... More

Our stay at Rhodes Manor was wonderful! The accomodations were excellent and it is obvious that much time and money has been spent to renovate the inside. Our rooms were very comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and a common sitting room. The owners, Margaret and Colin were extremely hospitable in every possible way and made our stay very enjoyable. They were... More

We stayed over in Amherst on a drive back from Cape Breton and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rhodes Manor. The B&B is well thought out, with both charming and classic features that make wach nook and cranny interesting. Margaret and Colin are excellent hosts, and I especially enjoyed a morning run with Margaret on the back roads and... More

This B&B was the first stop of our 'German family' road trip and is a highlight of our travels. Staying with Margaret & Colin felt like staying with friends. The rooms are incredible (we booked 3 different rooms, one was nicer than the next) and it was tough to get everyone up the next day as we all slept so... More

The house was on a quiet street not far from downtown Amherst, in a transitional neighborhood, where older, elegant homes had fallen into disrepair, but are now being transformed to their former stately charm. The owners have done much to make this mansion a showplace. They make you remove your shoes at the front door and wear slippers or stocking... More

I've been to so many B & B's across Canada and USA that I've lost count. I must state emphatically that Rhodes Manor in Amherst is the finest place I've ever stayed in. The Manor was recommended to me by a business associate and I had only planned to stay for one night. However, I couldn't resist extending my stay... More
