I stayed here for a night at the end of travelling around NZ with my other half. She had the luxury of staying at her relatives but i stayed here due to lack of space. Nice hotel. Staff were pleasant and the room was tidy. Biggest complaint is that my room was freezing, even with the heater on. I'm an... More

This is situated just off highway 1 and has convenient choices of restaurants and takeaway options next door. Car parking was easy and the room although small was adequate for a stop over. The room was in a garden as part of a larger building near the swimming pool and outdoor seating. The room I had was quiet and warm........ More

The beds and pillows were comfy, which I regard as key in a hotel, They need to launder the curtains though, to remove the mould, Noisy late night guests kept us awake, otherwise the accommodation was fine. I do appreciate the free wifi, and the morning paper.

Older establishment but very clean. We were put into an older block which had an old non-digital tv with no reception. When I rang the front desk to complain, I was quickly given a free room upgrade. This room overlooked the pool and bar, so I was worried we would be kept awake by noise, but that did not happen.... More

Poenamo is a nice enough hotel with decent sized rooms (rare for Auckland), nearby restaurants, a pool area and lovely ladies who clean your room everyday. However the courtyard/pool is shared with a bar which isn't exactly private and relaxing. The bar wasn't noisy when we were there, but the other guests were so the walls aren't up to much.... More

When we got here we were given room 28, which had lots of mold on the bathroom ceiling and bedroom curtains. We then complained and got room 24, which was better but still had a bit of mold on the curtains. The room looked dated and wasnt cleaned thoroughly (dust and dirt and spiders in the corners...) Also the shower... More

Well here it is at 1am and this is the worst night of my life!!!!! Seriously I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is by far the worst accommodation ever! Paper thin wall, loud music, shouting and after calling the front desk to ask the other guests to be quiet.......music goes off for only 5 minutes and returns... More

The apartment was a nice size and clean but it was all a bit tired. The staff were really helpful. it was handy to have a bar and restaurants close by. We found it a bit noisy and would stay closer to Takapuna next time.

I stayed in this hotel and at about 6am in the morning I woke to find a man standing at the end of my bed. A staff member of the hotel. It was so scary and disturbing. Reporting this to the reception they informed me that the manager was not available, they more less fobed me off. At home the... More
