How good is this little gem...cheap by the beach in TAKAPUNA!!! The Toorak of Auckland...how can this be so good and yet so cheap!!! Well...the accom is very low budget...the facilities are out of date, but eminently useable....and access to an amazing beach...WOW

This iconic spot is a total gem. Perched beside the Taka boat ramp and The Store, it's a fab launching spot for exploring the petrified forest coast line towards Milford or striking south to do the length of Taka beach.

Make sure you book a head , the camp ground is about 30 minutes by bus across the Auckland harbour Bridge . But it is worth every bit of effort .Sea bird life , a cafe very hard to beat . Strong sea winds some times in winter but what a view . Lots of campers stay here even President... More

Wow did we dodge a bullet here, the location is amazing but on site vans we were to spend 2 weeks in were antique to say the least and simply not worth the money we nearly paid. After viewing we cancelled and went into a very adequate motel for the same dollars. Amenities and rest of park shabby and run... More

We have a self contained caravan. The powered sites on the waterfront are absolutely stunning! It is the view to die for and very quiet. We love coming here and yes the facilities could do with a bit of money spent on them but with closure always hanging over their heads do you blame them for not spending the money?... More

This gets an excellent just for its location to Auckland centre. The campsite is old dated, fully of old static caravans. Facs fall well short of 4 star average sites. The camp is open to the public, it's toilets showers and kitchen are shabby. The service from reception is just OK but would win NO customer service awards. Takapuna us... More

We stayed here in one of the holiday cabins. We both thought it was excellent, great location right at the beach, the view from the bed out the windows is fantastic to wake up to. We didn't use any of the other facilities at the camp so can't comment on that. The cabin has all you need with a kitchen... More

Location is right next to the beach, few minutes walk into Takapuna shops / Bars and restaurants. All in all a good place to stay if in a self contained Campervan. The site is small though and facilities are very basic and a million miles away from the standard of a "Top Ten" site. I would stay here again because... More
