We spent a night here last week in our motorhome. We were lucky enough to get a beachfront site late one evening. Sites not very big at all and had to park on quite an angle to get the motorhome on the site. Fantastic view over the beach the following morning, but I have to say the rest of the... More

We decided to MotorHome around NZ’s north island for this holiday and booked this park for the start of our trip to spend a little time in Auckland. The location near the ocean and easy transport to the city attracted us, as did the sound of Takapuna village. Our assessment of those benefits turned out to be right but the... More

A great location right on the beach front at Takapuna, close to shops cafes and restaurants. The camp is tidy but a little run down, as I understand the adjacent yacht club are wanting the land for their future development. The entrance was very hard to find as no signage at the roadside, but after a circuit of the parking... More

I stayed with 2 teenagers in an old on site caravan and I was not impressed at all. A sticky floor, windows hard to open, no table, sink water of the neighbours draining straight on the grass, lamps not working (1 hanging on a cord above one of the beds getting incredible hot after half an hour) and powerblock was... A typical old style New Zealand Holiday Park in the absolutely perfect position in Takapuna Auckland. While the place is really showing it's age it is such a great spot to explore the Takapuna Area, shops and attractions walking distance away. A short stroll to the central transport hub to catch buses to central Auckland or Devonport. The cabins are... More

We found ourselves at the Takapuna holiday park after discovering there is no campervan site in Auckland CBD. It was definitely a great detour! We loved this site, as it was right on the beach with amazing views out across the bay. It was approx. $47 a night for a powered site beach front. It is walking distance to the... More

Stayed in a cabin that hadn't been maintained in some time. Infested with ants, and earwigs, mentioned this at the office and it wasn't taken well. Looked out kitchen window to see an exposed toilet which campervans used to dump their toxic waste. Curtains were covered in mould and the fridge stank. The camp has awesome views and would be... This place was awful. The only two good things I can say are the staff are very friendly & it's close to the beach. That's it. The caravan is from the 60's and has not been updated since nor have any of the facilities in the park. The caravans windows were broken as was the door and had previously been... More

Not sure about all the good ratings. A tired and old camp in need of some TLC. Lots or weeds where there once had been gardens. Yes right on the beach and Takapuna shops for sure. We were told on arrival to give them $10 cash deposit for a key to get in to the showers/toilets. On departure they said... More

Stayed one night in an onsite caravan on our way to the Bay of Islands. The caravan had obviously seen much better days but its interior was clean and comfortable. The park's facilities are very good and the location is great being within easy walking distance of a large number of eateries, shops etc. Access to the park is not... More
