OK, I'll get the one bad thing out of the way first - there is some noise from the road. However, unless you're highly sensitive to it, you will quickly tune it out. Other than that, our stay here was really special - the cabin charming, the bed huge, the environment and site great, and the staff really went out... More

A wonderful place with a very warm reception. Couldn't have asked for more during my stay. The accomodation was above and beyond what I expected, impeccably clean, cozy and homely. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to advise on things to do in the area. I highly recommend a stay here to anyone consodering!

It all depends what you're looking for: are you hoping for a chain hotel experience, with a/c & all the amenities? Don't go to a place like this. This has cabins in the woods, filled with perfect Canadiana accoutrements, deep bathtubs, next to rushing Kicking Horse river. And yes, not spread out, and not far from rushing highway. Hey, it's... After finding these cabins and looking at their impressive website we decided to pay the high price and book a cabin for 1 night as a special stay on our 3 week trip around Canada. We were a bit disappointed with the location as their website leads you to believe that they are set in a quite rural area, when... More

Dear Kirlou, We are very sorry you were disappointed with your stay. It seems that we failed to adequately communicate details about our amenities; that afternoon tea, coffee and fresh-baked cookies are available in the Lodge 3pm to 5pm daily and that perishables items, such as milk and cream, be requested from the Front Desk on an as needed basis... I had just experienced a very emotionally charged month of packing, organizing and moving from my Calgary home for many years and am on my way to the West Coast. I was so tired after only a few hours of driving, I remembered this lovely spot from a past hike into Twin Falls five years ago and decided to stop... More

My husband and I spent two single-night stays at Cathedral mountain this summer, our first visit there in several years. On each occasion we stayed in a Deluxe King Cabin; each such cabin contains two units, side-by-side, which share a wall. We didn’t find noise from the other unit to be a big problem, but we could hear when the... More

Spent two nights at Cathedral Mtn Lodge this last weekend. Haven't been here for about four years and happy to say it's still a fabulous place to stay. The cabins are extremely well maintained - beautiful and classy finishes - clean - comfortable. Top grade bedding and linens and decorated with antiques like old skiis and oil lamps, creating a... We stayed 3 nights on a road trip from Calgary to Vancouver. It is indeed tucked in between a busy highway and perhaps busier freight rail line, but, except for some mild background noise, that did not detract from the quality of our experience. Plus, it's right on the Kicking Horse River, so it's never silent at this location to... More

We stayed one night at Cathedral Mountain Lodge as we were embarking on a 3 day hiking expedition at Lake O'Hara. The cabins are beautiful, clean and well appointed. The lodge itself offers a beautiful sitting area and deck where you can enjoy coffee, tea and cookies in the afternoon or just sit around soaking up the atmosphere and beautiful... More

Great location, beautiful environment. Food in the restaurant was great and the little 'beach' at the river is awesome! The lodges are very cute, a bit small but with high ceilings. Note; the price is high.
