We enjoyed a perfect little getaway at Cathedral Mountain Lodge. It is set in the perfect setting slightly outside the town of Field. We stayed in a deluxe cabin and were impressed with the lovely Canadian decor, Aveda amenities, the cleanliness of the cabin and the lovely deck outside. The staff were friendly and wonderful (a lot of them have... More

I enjoyed my stay at CML: cabins were spacious and beautiful and the staff were helpful. My expectations were a bit more than they could deliver on, I guess - here follows a few of the things that prevented me from giving it a 'Good' or better: - staff did not seem to have adequate knowledge of the surrounding area's... We stayed in a deluxe cabin. It was very clean and cozy. There was a nice big tub and lots of hot water. Picnic basket, wine glasses and umbrellas in the room. Nice deck with adirondack chairs. We really enjoyed the stay. Free wifi was fairly good. The only negative was the complimentary breakfast. The hot food selections were empty... More

Initial looks from the main highway not the best but after our 2 night stay I would say stay here not in Lake Louise. Still only 15 minutes back but far better to be away from the crowds. Inclusive superb breakfast. Log fires and mountains to die for. Excellent access to Emerald lake, waterfalls and walks. Brilliant staff and quiet... More

my husband and I spent a week here and were thrilled we picked CML over the sister property at lake moraine. we booked a king cabin which was comfortable and nicely decorated. my only complaint: it's a little small. contrary to lauraultrarunner's assertion in a previous review, the cabins are cleaned daily and you are given new towels when you... we only stayed for one night on our anniversary but everything was fine, cabin in well furnished with very comfortable bed. Seating outside room is good and only a short walk to the water, where seating is also provided. We requested champagne in our room on arrival and this was done. Breakfast was adequate and the dining room is lovely... More

We spent 4 nights here, which I understand is longer than most. We stayed in a king cabin. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. We spent several mornings sat by the river relaxing. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food is excellent, particularly the scallops. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to be served by Sonia!... More

The location is perfect - so peaceful and surrounded by nature and stunning scenery. We stayed in one of the newer lodges and they are on the small size - with limited storage and space. However, we loved our stay and the service was amazing - the staff are all wonderful and go out of their way to make sure... More

The individual log cabins in the woods made you feel relaxed and secluded. It was a wonderful break from all the hiking you want to do here in the Lake Louise/ Yoho area. We loved the individual porch with the adirondack chairs and the fire pit down by the river. The cabin was beautifully decorated and the beds were very... More

Cathedral Mountain Lodge is a unique property - a collection of very comfortable log cabins (not rustic at all, but rather, upscale and well-appointed) in the forest along the glacial Kicking Horse River, in a deep valley between high mountains, all next to a central lodge building with wonderful wood beam architecture and an excellent restaurant. We have stayed here... More
