I guess you get what you pay for. We stayed here 2 nights on a pretty cheap ski & stay package. First impression upon entering the reception area was that it was a little rundown. But whatever, that didn't really bother us. Girl on front desk was nice enough. Our room was actually laughable. Not enough room to swing a... More

Alot of mixed reviews on this hotel.. my personal experience.. Wonderful!!!!!! we stayed at GDL for 5 days while on a ski trip. 1st of all take into consideration that this is an old rustic place... the power is run from generators and the food is cooked fresh!!! if your looking for 1st class luxury... go to the chateau. if... Unless you want to camp, which I wouldn't recommend in February, there is no better value in this area. Expect to pay 300/night anywhere else. For 1/3 that price We got a two-level suite with two beds (one for the kids). The bathroom was a little dirty, the hot water was spotty and the power went out for 5 min... More

As you pull up to this hotel it looks like the the kind of place you ask "who would stop at a place like this?!?". It is located 20 minutes west of Lake Louise right off the highway. My room was rustic and dormlike - worn bed, little furniture, broken tiles in the bathroom, cold shower, no phone, no clock... More

This place was horrible. No phone, clock or fridge in the room. Seemed right out of the 80's when my parents used to ski. Jasmine the receptionist, Randa the bartender and Lolly in the kitchen were all very pleasant and friendly. Clay and Ryan (not sure what they did at the lodge) were what ruined the experience. Clay threw my... More

Jerry, What you describe in your review was taken very seriously by staff and management of the hotel. We conducted a full investigation into the "assault" you described. We can find no basis for this incident having occurred. If you have any evidence we urge you to forward it to hotel management or indeed the proper authorities. Otherwise are taking... More

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT stay here. We have driven by this place several times thinking this would be a quaint cozy little spot but boy were we wrong. First off they make you pay up front and take your money before you even view your room. When you get to the room there is no clock, no... More

We arrived for the stay and ski package. Upon arrival, we got a great room, we had made a reservation, but the person making it did not request 2 beds, which we needed, and they got them for us immediately. Very nice balcony front room overlooking the mountains. Shuttle was timely, only 15 mins from Lake Louise ski hill. Great... More

The only good thing about this lodge is it location (and the view). It is close to Lake O'Hara so if you do not want to spend well over $500 for two people (at Lake O'Hara Lodge) or not sleep in a backpack camping at Lake O'Hara (which requires 3 months in advance reservation and gets booked on the first... This lodge was a nice surprise. Cheap as compared to others in area. Nice location with wonderful view. Only 15 kms from lake louise. Fresh bbq food at average rates. We would highly recommend this place.

When we arrived and saw the room, we were surprised by the lack of windows. The room had one very small window and it had been painted shut. The room actually looked OK, but it was a hot day and the room was hot and stuffy. The front desk said that new windows had been ordered. We were encouraged to... More
