Have been three times. Sept/09 - Outstanding. Sept/11 - Very good. Jul/12 - Disappointed. Service still good but flat bread was soggy, some of my dining partners commented on small portions (seemed small even to me who is not a big eater). Tacos were very good. Oh, and don't even get me going on the service at breakfast which was... More

The hotel is located across from a train switching yard - we didn't mind this much, but there is a lot of train noise especially during the night. We had one of the rooms on the back of the building (with a kitchenette). Thank God we didn't plan to cook - the kitchen is very poorly equipped (AND there is... More

Called in on spec going Westwards through Yoho and immediately cancelled our booked accommodation in Golden for the return Eastward journey to allow us to stay here instead. Lady on reception was rather reluctant to let us book the basement 'crashpad' as she feared the restaurant above would be too noisy. In the event the room, though suffering a little... More

My family stayed here in August. The town of Field is very small, in a beautiful valley in Yoho National Park. We chose this hotel because the alternatives out of town in Yoho were too expensive: these options being the Emerald Lake Lodge and Cathedral Mountain Lodge. However, the hotel is located across from a train switching yard. In the... More

This was a last minute addition to our agenda. Over the top in service, quality and cuisine. Excellent in these categories. Yet the real gem is the crazy, wonderful ambience. This should be on everyone's list visiting Lake Louise. Avoid the drab dining in the Chateauband treatvyourself. It is an adventure you won't regret.

Kicking Horse Lodge is a very useful place. It used to be a run-down hostelry that looked very unappealing, until the folks from the Truffle Pigs restaurant (which used to be across the street) bought it a few years ago, fixed it up, and moved their restaurant to larger quarters attached to the hotel. They’ve done a nice job with... More

Food excellent and worth eating out if not staying there. Fields has lots of B&Bs. The lodge has been refurbished very nicely and modern. I loved the leather club chairs and comfortable beds. the room seemed small when we alked in but had lots of room for our things and did not feel crowded. Laundry in the walk out basement... More

This place is my best memory of our Rocky Mountain tour, Food was great atmosphere was cozy and warm, I had the best Caesar drink in a very long time, the view was amazing. But aside from the great menu, one needs to take in the in house accommodation so you don't rush any of the four or five local... More

Spent two nights here in early August in room number 3, a basement room with no view. The room was well appointed with no musty smell sometimes associated with a basement area, the beds were comfortable, and the TV and WiFi worked well. However, there was no table or chair for the computer, no refrigerator or microwave and an overhead... More

We stayed one night at the Kicking Horse Lodge and ate dinner and breakfast at Truffle Pigs. The lodge itself is clean and comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed and they offered TV and wifi, which was a nice change for us since we'd been hiking for nearly a week and wanted to reconnect with family and the news of the... More
