We stayed one night at the Kicking Horse Lodge. It was the first time in my many years of travelling that I had to call the front desk and ask them to change to another room - which was worse than the first one. Please note: - the food at the Truffle Pigs Bistro is really good - especially the... More

We apologized for the problem and have had our heating system adjusted. BY all accounts my staff did try to keep you happy and satisfied. It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay with us as we pride ourselves on exceeding our customers expectations. Thank you for your review. More

I stayed at the Kicking Horse Lodge on business but my husband came along and we had a fantastic time. The room was clean and comfy and the staff was friendly and professional. Even though it was off season there was a good atmosphere at the pub. The best part of our stay was certainly the food and hanging out... More

My husband and I went to Field during what turned out to be an unexpected exceptionally cold and snowy October week for some hiking. Needed a place to stay near Emerald Lake, and Lodge there was closed so chose Kicking Horse Lodge and Truffle Pigs Bistro. Originally planned on 3 nights but stayed only 2. Dinner was outstanding (at TP... More

We were immediately charmed by the St. Bernard dog stretched out in the yard on a cold fall night at the Kicking Horse. We travel with our dog and there was no problem booking our room. Great price, trendy, well kept room with newer mattresses and furnishings. A yummy bonus was the chocolate truffle pig candies on our pillows. In... More

Have been three times. Sept/09 - Outstanding. Sept/11 - Very good. Jul/12 - Disappointed. Service still good but flat bread was soggy, some of my dining partners commented on small portions (seemed small even to me who is not a big eater). Tacos were very good. Oh, and don't even get me going on the service at breakfast which was... More

The hotel is located across from a train switching yard - we didn't mind this much, but there is a lot of train noise especially during the night. We had one of the rooms on the back of the building (with a kitchenette). Thank God we didn't plan to cook - the kitchen is very poorly equipped (AND there is... More

Called in on spec going Westwards through Yoho and immediately cancelled our booked accommodation in Golden for the return Eastward journey to allow us to stay here instead. Lady on reception was rather reluctant to let us book the basement 'crashpad' as she feared the restaurant above would be too noisy. In the event the room, though suffering a little... More

My family stayed here in August. The town of Field is very small, in a beautiful valley in Yoho National Park. We chose this hotel because the alternatives out of town in Yoho were too expensive: these options being the Emerald Lake Lodge and Cathedral Mountain Lodge. However, the hotel is located across from a train switching yard. In the... More

This was a last minute addition to our agenda. Over the top in service, quality and cuisine. Excellent in these categories. Yet the real gem is the crazy, wonderful ambience. This should be on everyone's list visiting Lake Louise. Avoid the drab dining in the Chateauband treatvyourself. It is an adventure you won't regret.

Kicking Horse Lodge is a very useful place. It used to be a run-down hostelry that looked very unappealing, until the folks from the Truffle Pigs restaurant (which used to be across the street) bought it a few years ago, fixed it up, and moved their restaurant to larger quarters attached to the hotel. They’ve done a nice job with... More
