We spent 4 nights at the Bear's Den exploring the beautiful Yoho National Park. Field makes an excellent base, being in the middle of the park, everyone is friendly, and the Bear's Den is perfect. We made great use of Lorraine's canoe & kayak at the Emerald Lake (we spent about about 8hrs on this, the bluest of all of... More

We spent an awesome 3 nights at the Bears Den Guesthouse and loved it! Lorraine is an excellent host and we left the area of Yoho feeling welcome and learning so much about the trails-Emerald Lake and Bears! We BBQ'd in Lorraines back yard-enjoyed a paddle out on Emerald Lake in her canoe and managed to get some memorable hikes in... Great value for this lovely place in a peaceful and beautiful town. Lorraine was very accommodating and went out her way to help us with local knowledge and lending us her canoe on Emerald lake which is a must !

I stayed with family in the quaint guesthouse at the Bear's Den. Lorraine was a wonderful host and gave us many ideas of places to see and explore. My 93 year old mom was thrilled with the accommodations and when we left was wanting to get any available information to share with other family and friends so that they could... More

As a family of four - two oldies and two 20 somethings we spent two lovely nights at Bear's Den. It was the first time in nearly 8 years we had spent a holiday together, just the four of us, so it was great to spend some of our holiday in this lovely place. We appreciated the open plan space... We loved our couple of nights at Bears Den and wished we could have had longer here. The ground level apartment is very very roomy with 2 bedrooms (1 x queen, 2 x singles), modern bathroom with shampoo etc, living area with tv (plus dvd player & a selection of dvds), and best of all for us a great spacious... We (3 adults, 1 toddler) are so glad that we chose this guesthouse for our stay in Field. First off, Lorraine, owner, is extremely friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The location was terrific, overlooking the mountains with the trains in sight which was fun to watch but they weren't noisy. The kitchen was extremely... More

Loved rediscovering Field and staying here made it even more perfect. Wonderful suite with everything you could ever need, perfect location and it was a genuine pleasure meeting Lorraine- very inspirational lady! Lorraine even includes free use of her personal canoe, up at Emerald Lake, a definite must-do. All in all, felt more like staying with an old friend than... More

We loved this place. Field is a quaint village on the railway, which you would think would be loud, but really it didn't bother us at all, the train-watching was kinda fun. The host, Lorraine was fantastic; she is so friendly and was a wealth of information about the best hikes in the area, we saw the most beautiful sights.... More

We stayed at the Bears Den for 7 nights starting August 10th. Great place with that home-like feel. Right from the start the owner, Lorraine, was filling us in on the premiere hiking spots. She was absolutely amazing and we had the best week ever. I came away with the knowledge of the area and knowing I had made a... More
