We had such a welcoming experience at Solomon House. We were on a bike tour and caught in a downpour. 1775 Solomon House was our destination, hadn't checked in yet and here we are showing up at the door like drowned rats, water pouring off us. Janet greeted us at the door with a smile and helped us. Just like... More

My husband and I stayed at Solomon House for one night recently. Janet & George are extremely hospitable and their aim is to make sure you know everything about the area and it's attractions, make you very welcome and serve you great food. We were greeted with a lovely rhubarb sprits, there were coconut tarts in our room and the... More

My wife and I couldn't have chosen better for our 2 night stay in Lunenburg during our two week tour of Nova Scotia and 1775 Solomon House has to be at the top of our list of favourite B&Bs that we stayed in as well as it being one of the highlights of our holiday. Janet was the perfect host... More

Where to start ... a beautiful heritage home that the owners; Janet and George have been truly faithful to the period. A great deal of thought and love for antiques is evident in even the "smallest room". On arrival we were greeted with a much appreciated cup of tea and delightful homemade tarts. Unfortunately I also arrived with a sore... More

I stayed at 1775 Solomon House for 4 nights in July and couldn't have been happier with my choice! For me the best part of a B&B stay is the chance to meet and chat with interesting people, and Janet and George are two of the most interesting, knowledgeable and hospitable hosts you could hope to meet. Before I even... More

Janet and George have created an astounding place of refuge and comfort in the midst of history. From the inviting rooms to the over abundant breakfasts there are many reasons for this being the best place to stay in Lunenburg. We were there recently for our son's graduation. We had a full compliment, including extras. We were welcomed with open... More

I stayed at this B&B for one night and I really enjoyed it. The location is great: just about three blocks away for the historic waterfront and 5 minute drive away from a quiet harbour shore. Janet and George were very friendly, welcoming, offered help with everything I needed and and even drove me around the city and to some... More

I stayed here recently with my teenaged daughter. It's a great location and beautiful house. Janet really went the extra mile; it felt like we were visiting friends we just hadn't met before. She makes sure she's knowledgeable about the whole area and, as others have noted, makes a fantastic breakfast. It is also fun staying in a house that... More

We had the good fortune to stay recently at this delightful bed and breakfast. We were in the Solomon Room which was furnished beautifully with antiques and had an ensuite. Don't ask me how one would update the wiring and plumbing in such an old historic home! The room could not have been more perfect and Joanne had thought of... More
