It is unfortunate that we arrived as late as we did to the Ashlea House. We came from long day on the road from Brier Island, NS and arrived around 8 pm. Even though this was past the usual check in times, the owners were very gracious and left a note and key for us on the front door and... More

We had two rooms for two nights. The building is as amazing and interesting as the owners! The place is large and brimming with charm and character. From the living room(s),the dining room, staircase, deck, gazebo, lookout tower.......and the breakfast every morning😍 it is awesome. Too much to say and nothing will do it justice until you stay there. Highly highly... More

During our vacation to Nova Scotia, we designed to spend a night in Lunenburg. We booked at the Ashlea House B&B! What a find. The innkeepers,Linda and John, warmly welcomed us. They made us feel right at home. The room was comfortable and clean as well as the entire house. Breakfast was included. John and Linda made a wonderful breakfast,... More

We recently spent 4 nights at Ashlea House in Lunenburg. John and Lynn were exceptional hosts. Each morning we shared a fabulous breakfast with the other guests chatting about the wonderful sights and sounds of Lunenberg. John and Lynn allowed us to experience an outstanding heritage home; long wooden staircase, beautiful parlors, a cosy dining room and welcoming bedrooms, etc.... More

AshleIa House is a short walk to downtown Lunenburg. It is a popular B&B, and every room was filled with different people each night. Parking was a bit of a problem, and while filling, the traditional Nova Scotia breakfast was not high quality. Getting coffee early was a challenge. Lynn and John were very friendly and provided much information on... More

We’re sorry we didn’t meet this guest’s standards. They are correct, we do run almost full occupancy every night during our tourist season and are very thankful for the support of travellers who visit Lunenburg and Nova Scotia. We feel we have to clarify a few points to be fair to all our other guests who almost without exception rate... More

Had a very very small room, so make sure to ask for one of the larger ones. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was excellent. Owners were very helpful in making suggestions. Book early for a large room, since it is popular.

We spent one night of a 12-day Nova Scotia vacation at the Ashlea House on August 1. John and Lynn are great hosts. The B&B is in a great location - walking distance to the harbor and historic part of town. We had 2 rooms - the Waverly Room for our daughters and the cottage room for my wife and... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Ashlea House in July, with our 8-year old son and 11-year old daughter, and it was a wonderful experience! We stayed in the Family Suite, and both bedrooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated, and with really superior quality beds. There was plenty of room for luggage and all the stuff we hauled up... More

I won't repeat all the superlatives in other reviews only because they are all so true! John and Lynn are excellent hosts and well-informed about Lunenberg and all of Nova Scotia. The home is lovely and comfortable. We were in the adult room of the family suite and it was spacious and had a shower with the best water pressure... More

The owners were so friendly and helpful, their breakfast is to die for, most delicious breakfast I ever had!! We will be going back to stay at the Ashlea house for our anniversary!!
