My wife and I stayed at the Kaulbach house this past week end, we had stayed there a few years ago and were quite pleased to see the Inn as it was in our souvenirs, beautiful, clean and quite charming, additionally David and Jenny were just outstanding hosts, with great tourist advise, place to visit, you HAVE to go to... We just returned from Lunenberg and loved this beautiful little town. The town is just charming. We stayed at the 1880 kaulbach House while we were there.....the inn is certainly charming in it's own as it has a great location, beautiful room, good breakfast and kind and helpful hosts. We had reserved the attic room and were so happy we... More

Thank you for your comments. I am very pleased that overall your stay with us was a pleasant one but sorry that not all aspects were to your satisfaction. A full housekeeping service is available for stays of more than one night but we find the majority of guests prefer the privacy of an undisturbed room. It is normal practice... More

My folks and I spent our first night in Nova Scotia at the 1880 Kaulbach House Historic Inn. After a long day of travel with a flight delay, we rolled into Lunenburg at approximately 8pm. The proprietor Dave welcomed us warmly, saw us to our room, and gave us restaurant suggestions. Although this was out first stay at this inn,... More

We have been staying at B&B's more recently, and the 1880 Kaulbach House was our choice in Lunenburg. We chose it for its location near the waterfront, restaurants, and activities. We weren't diappointed. We had the enire thrid floor to ourselves, and we enjoyed it immensely. Breakfast was excellent, and the discussions with the other guests was very interesting and... More

The best B&B I ever visited! Such great hospitality - this could be a quid line how B&B's should be. David and Jennie are the most gracious, friendly hosts ever. Such a warm welcome, great advice where to go, perfect host, unbelievable breakfast - just a vacation experience at its best!

The perfect place for a family looking to stay in the heart of Lunenberg! The owners, David and Jenny, are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us make the most out of our stay in Nova Scotia. The breakfast each morning was delicious, healthy and beautifully presented! It was a treat! We stayed in the Blue Nose Suite on the... More

After our flights were delayed 3 hours, we finally arrived at the kaulbach House at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. We were met at the door by our host, David, who graciously helped getting the luggage up to the 3rd floor Bluenose suite. David pointed us to the only restaurant in Lunenburg that was still open and we had... More

Our visit to Lunenburg was greatly enhanced by staying at this Inn. David provided recommendations for dining, strolling, and interesting sites in Lunenburg plus a route with must-see stops for the next day! Breakfast was great. Both the common areas and the two rooms we saw were well decorated and comfy. The rooms were adequate size, with much appreciated desks.... More

We recently spent 8 nights in Lunenberg at Kaulbach House. We were initially to get to Lunenberg about 6PM. Due to airline problems we were late arriving at about 11:30PM on a very foggy, rainy night, David was graciously waiting up for us to check us in. David and Jennie are the most gracious, friendly hosts ever. We felt like... More

After finding digs in most of Nova scotia for about $99 to $110, I was more than taken aback to find the least expensive room here was $139. That was up two flights of steep narrow stairs, and quite small. But the very British hosts were charming and effusive- full of good ideas and pleasant banter. Breakfast was convivial and... More

Thank you for staying at Kaulbach House and for your positive comments. I'm sorry you felt that your room rate did not offer good value for money. Apart from the Bluenose Suite (not the room in question), which occupies the whole of the attic floor, all of our rooms are on the second floor, so just one flight up the... More
