We were looking for an overnight stay in Lunenberg before returning to the States via Halifax, and Alicion was recommended by our hosts at A Seafaring Maiden in Granville Ferry (another wonderful Nova Scotia B&B). Alicion exceeded our expectations, with spacious guest rooms and gathering places. Janet was very gracious and we were made to feel very welcome.

Nicely furnished, spacy room. Beautiful & bright bathroom with awesome organic "Green Beaver - lavender rosemary" shampoo, conditioner and lotion that really impressed us. The "going green ambitions" of this b&b are definitely worth mentioning. The hosts are nice and gave us good advice where to go in Lunenburg even though it was off-season and many places were closed. We have stayed at Alicion several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Lorne and Janet run a fabulous B&B in a very historic, well maintained property. The house has beautiful period features and is well situated in Lunenburg for walking to the local restaurants and attractions. The breakfasts are excellent with lots of fresh fruit,... More

Great place to relax. Very quiet, rooms are nice, and it is a very easy walk to downtown. Breakfast is so-so. Wireless internet is not great; one community PC that is fairly slow. Bathrooms and bedrooms are very large for a B&B.

We would like to thank this guest for the positive statements in the review but question the 6 months it took to provide. As with all owner/operators we greatly appreciate the opportunity to address concerns at the time or shortly after (preferably directly) for the benefit of the guests to follow. On the subject of the Wi-Fi, we are only... More

The owners are very accommodating. The rooms all have Green Beaver brand shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion....gluten-free without worry. Breakfast was an easy and delicious gluten-free option with Udi's toast. Would recommend to anyone. The location was ideal for walking and close to Knot's Pub also no problem with gluten-free food. Walking to old town Lunenburgh was a snap... More

The owners of this B&B thought of everything. All of the important things (comfortable bed, clean, hospitable hosts, etc) were outstanding. The things that made this visit extraordinary were the small details. Everything in the Periwinkle room was on theme, right down to the knobs on the drawers of the night tables. The hydrotherapy tub included epsom salts and the... More

This B&B is cozy, beautiful and quiet. The hosts are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Lorne has some really great stories- ask him about the boa constrictor! We loved the comfort of the cozy room for a relaxing getaway, but most of all the friendly conversation over a yummy breakfast. Would... More

Lunenburg, is a charming place and it was a real treat to stay in a B&B that captured and sustained the charm we found in the town. This B&B is in an old mansion that has been beautifully, lovingly and tastefully cared for. We were warmly welcomed and had wonderful breakfasts in the cozy, yet elegant, dining room. Our room... The Alicion B&B was our first experience staying at a Bed and Breakfast and it set the standard for any B&B's in the future. Our room was beautiful. The bed comfortable and the room quiet for sleeping. I especially liked the nice touch of having crystal glasses in our room for drinking. Lorne and Janet were great hosts and breakfast... More

My husband and I recently enjoyed two nights at the Alicion. When I phoned to book one night, Lorne encouraged me to make it two, and it was a great suggestion. The area deserves more time, and we loved our stay there. The room was beautiful and full of thoughtful touches. We were surprised to find robes for our use.... More
