Traveling through the region snowmobiling. Location off of trail was good, did not have to negotiate busy Thetford Mines area for lodging. Receptionist was friendly. Offered us garage space for sleds, the garage was a private garage with the capacity of maybe four sleds, and sign read.... Not responsible for fire, damage, or theft. I chained my sleds outside my... More

We just staying there for a club snowmobile trip. The rooms stink, noise all through the night, full of drunk people. The showers don't drain, bed was from the 1960s. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Don't waste your money!!

Stayed for 1 night at the Balmoral on Feb 7 as I was traveling by snowmobile with a friend. The hotel - motel is convenient as it is on the trail, albeit we did have to cross a 4 lane highway to reach it from the direction we came in from (Lac Magantic). The interior of the room was definitely... More

OK for one night while traveling. Very old motel not renovated. The room was small but clean. The bed was OK nothing more. The staff was polite and they have a nice bar. The price I paid was acceptable for a motel however I had to negotiate it with the clerk.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. From the moment we walked in the room we were not impressed at all. It was completely overpriced for what was offered. The furniture was dated and dirty, the bed covering was about 20 years old, moldy shower with rusty curtain hooks! To make things worse....NO water at all due to a... More

I've stayed at this hotel twice for snowmobile weekends. Figured the first time must have been a fluke with the 2:00 am partiers across the hall. Nope it's like that every weekend. If it's not drunk parents its hockey kids running up and down the hall and beds that are hard as a board. I will never go to this... More

I have stayed there multiple times with me and my buddies who go riding up there. There are plenty of restaurants and clubs around the area. Plus the bar and club inside. Last time we were there they had a live band. The place was also extremely clean and with a heated and surveillance garage for the snowmobiles it was... More

this is a great and fun hotel to stay at, the bar and discotheque are fun and very enjoyable. many of the staff DO speak english if you ask and are friendly. Bartenders in the Bar Monroe are very friendly and talk to guests.

Avoid this hotel. Every year few snowmobiles get stolen. Clerks can't speak English nor good French. It's surely cheap but you get what you are paying for.

We have stayed at the Balmoral several times over the past few years for snowmobiling. The hotel is clean and comfortable (but nothing to get excited about). It is directly on the snowmobile trail and there is ample signage on the trail to get you back. My only real criticism is that you can't rely on the front desk to... More
