Hello our family of 5 with boys aged 8-16 stayed in the hostel towards the end of the ski season and loved it. The staff were very welcoming and there is a great common room downstairs for cooking and fun games. This is a great affordable option for families looking for a relaxing non-stressful place to stay! “Dissapointed with the customer service....”

Some simple changes could have greatly improved this basic hostel. While the rooms were clean, the hostel was let down by the shocking customer service we received from the manager himsef. Such a shame. While other staff seemed friendly enough the Manager appeared to not be bothered by us as guests in the hostel. Our room was like a sauna... More

Fortunately we do have a fully secure bike storage area with 24 hour survallience cameras pointed at it and bike theft has never occured during 15 years of operation . Went to Fernie with a buddy for some fly fishing. The rain prevented us from camping as much as we wanted, but the Raging Elk worked out great. “Perfect short term ski bum hangout”

Crashed here for a night, so we could ski Fernie. The price was right, we had a private room which slept 4 and came with private bathroom.
