I have no idea why this lodge isn't full of tourists like the lodges in Banff and Lake Louise are at this time of the year, but I am grateful for it and the authentic, Canadian, luxury lodge experience provided by this resort. The setting is spectacular - on par or better than Lake Louise. The service is wonderful. The... More

This is the second time we have been to ILL. The first was during summer and the second was this April. Got two wonderfull days of cat skiing. Fresh winter pow on Saturday and more springlike powder on Sunday. The staff and crew were all top notch! Corey and Brenda knew exactly where to take us to maximise our powder... More

I didn't stay here but did come up for a day to snow shoe around the lake, have a great lunch and visit the spa. We were brought up to the lodge by a cat, first time I had ever travelled on one of these babies. The access road was pretty lumpy due to it going through some freezing and... More

The best trip of my life. Unbelievable terrain and exquisite food, great guides and friendly faces everywhere. If you like skiing powder with no people then this place is for you. Fantastic experience!!1

From start to finish the entire experience is all class in mountain fashion. The staff are well trained and safety is clearly a priority. I have been twice and will be there again. I also used the spa and followed a day of powder boarding on fresh tracks with a great massage. Perfect before a delicious meal with new and... More

From the moment they pick you up in the snowcat until the time you depart, this is the absolute perfect ski vacation. Lodging Experience: Our group of 12 stayed in the Cedar Lodge. Rooms were large and very nice -- although time spent in the room is minimal. Happy hour in a rustic bar upon arrival and then each day... More

My friends and I just completed an amazing four day catskiing adventure trip at Island Lake. This was our first visit so we didn't know what to expect. Right from the start, we were suitably impressed. The accommodations were clean and well furnished. Not having TV, phones, etc. allows you to focus on the skiing! Three cabins are well situated,... I love Island Lake Lodge. My husband and I catskied there in the mid-90s, and also spent a couple of summer weekends there (08 and 09). We were able to get in on a cancellation last week and stayed in the Tamarack Lodge so it was just a walk downstairs for meals, spa & hot tub. Beautiful view looking out... More

Cat-skiing is my new addiction and Island Lake is the perfect place to catch the buzz. Wow! We had incredible skiing, fabulous food, and incredible guides. Can't wait to go back! The staff was terrific. The setting is beautiful. The accommodations are appropriately cabin-y. Nothing pretentious here. Our guides, Corey and Candice, were extremely competent, helpful and fun to be... More

A magical forest in the middle of no where. Loved the whole experience. A hidden gem. A must see. Prepare to feel healing inside and out from the fresh mountain air. Wonderful trails for hiking and snowshoeing.
