I usually stay at this hotel when I am in Ottawa for govt business due to its combination of location (close to a number of govt buildings), price, and nearby amenities (several nice restaurants and museums nearby, lots of nearby parks and the river is immediately adjacent). In 2009 I stayed here for 2 weeks and got to know the... more

Yes, the hotel is in a pretty old building. But I picked up a room on Saturday night for only $65 + tax on Priceline, so I didn't mind. Beat the hell out of the $169 "discount" rate at the Hilton next to the casino. Free wifi, free parking on the street during the weekends, and a short drive to... more

I stayed at this hotel for a month for government business purposes. It is one of the eligible hotels on the government list. The interior decor is outdated and tired. As indicated by another review, a significant disinfection is required (there is a noticable background odour on the tenth floor). However, it might be the used state of the establishment... more

The hotel is in a very convenient location across the river from Ottawa and was reasonably priced. The staff were very business like but not welcoming. Rooms were a little larger than average but were in need of updating. For example, the TV was an old 22 inch tube screen. The bathroom was old and tired but functional. I was... more

Staff: overall great, helpful and courteous. As everywhere in Quebec, they do seem to appreciate if you’re making an effort to speak at least a few words in French. Room: relatively large room and bathroom. Furniture is old but o.k.. Old school RCA TV set with good selection of channels in both official languages. Cleanliness of room left a lot... more

The Front Desk staff were friendly and efficient. While the hotel decor is a bit dated, it's certainly not as bad as some reviewers have suggested. My room was spacious and clean with a terrific view of the river. The bed mattress was perfect, making for a very comfortable and quiet night's sleep. While the restaurant staff were very attentive,... more

This hotel is stuck in the 1970s ...the deco is brick and brass (and some sort of brick terraced water feature). Location is good as it offers nice views of Ottawa and the park next door. Location is very good for meetings in Gatineau (all the gov't buildings are interconnected, this hotel included) Front desk staff (like others have mentioned)... more

Myself and or colleagues would stay at this hotel on a biweekly basis. After receiving the rudest greeting and service of my life from the night manager, we will never give this hotel our business again. She was very unprofessional and rude to say the very least. more

Dear Mr. Morris, I have looked into to your comments and have the following to share. You arrived without a reservation with two adult friends choosing not to leave a credit card as a guaranty method. There is no mention of you in our log books and nobody recalls any issues raised by you. Were you offended by the increased...

I spent a total of 35 days while I was relocation to Ottawa. This place is probably the best I have been. Great staff, the hotel is clean and the restaurant food is tops. I had many friends to stay at that hotel since and everyone was very satisfied. more
