Grassy treed sites adjacent to the river inlet. Good layout of the campground; free Sani-dump. Clean!! Friendly helpful staff. Playground, swimming, pet friendly. We have stayed here before & will definitely be back again. Thank you!

The camp ground itself is ok, gets pretty windy in the open area and there is limited sites in the trees. This site use to be great to camp at but after last night, things have obviously changed. All children must be supervised at all times, which means that if you are a single parent with two or three kids... More

We camped at the Sooke River Campground for the 2014 Bluegrass Festival. The festival itself was fantastic but was overshadowed by the rude and aggressive park staff. Although the park is fenced and gated, we were required to wear wrist bands at all times identifying ourselves. The park staff stopped us on more than one occasion to verify our identity,... More

We stay here all the time and love it. This campground had a reputation for rowdies but ever since the new caretakers took over a couple of years ago they have done very well returning it to a respectable family site. Rules are no different than any other place. People that don't like rules tend to be the ones that... More

We had a lovely spot along the creek and enjoyed wildlife viewing right from our campsite. Toilets & showers were nothing fancy, but were fine. Noise from the road & highway was disturbing sleep at times. Hosts were helpful and mostly friendly, but could be very blunt bordering on rude at times (though I am sure it is easier for... More

Staff was great. Zero tolerance for rowdies. Lots to do in the area. Right on the river. Good prices and good clean amenities. A small store allows you to buy small needed supplies but there is a complete town just up the road.

I chose this campground as a cheaper alternative to the highly recommended but expensive B&B's in the area that would not take a 2 night reservation. The campground itself is nice. Check the map when getting a site because some are nice along the river and shaded by trees; whereas some are in an open field. It's a small campground... More

Camping at Sooke River Campground is a wonderful experience. We visited this rustic retreat set in a small piece of wilderness during the annual Bluegrass Music Festival, and were greatly entertained by talented bluegrass pickers and singers for 3 days; well worth the $50 admission. The planning and organization from all parties involved must have been no easy task, but... More

The staff was rude, the place is a dive, over priced and it is not a place worth visiting. The staff was deceiving about having a fire pit too cook in, the security personal made my girlfriend and I very uncomfortable, they had a chip on their shoulder and caused a disturbance then pointed the finger at us, this place is... This campground is beautiful along the river. There are plenty of sites, each one with a fire pit and picnic table and they are decent sized spots. Some which are surrounded by trees - others in the open field. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There is a little campsite store for little things you may need and plenty... More
