The drive to Sooke is about an hour from Victoria, along forested roads, passing the city of Sooke, which has an interesting museum, located just before it. Better bed at a Motel 6. For $200 plus a night...we could have stayed at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria for less, and a much better bed. Also breakfast before 8 AM. Place was locked up at 8 PM too. Much earlier than the 10 PM as advertised for public spaces.

The scenic views and reliable service is what makes the amazing Sooke Harbour House a place that I will always choose to visit. Each room is so beautifully decorated and unique. The restaurant looks over the water and is just breathtaking. Not to mention the food is delicious!

Came out for our second Sunday brunch with an Xmas gift voucher. Lovely location. Staff friendly. Food excellent. House salad is great. Chocolate mousse cake/ice cream terrific for sharing. This is the place to be on Vancouver Island. We spent a weekend away on a "work retreat". It was both relaxing & energizing. Waterfront location, decor, food (local grown) and service were all 10/10. I wish it was closer to the Mainland. Expensive but well worth it........
