This is the most beautiful place. Part of me wants to say it was yukky, but that would be selfish. It really is lovely, and you deserve the peace brought on by the surrounding rainforest. We stayed in the Port Cabin and it was really nice. The kitchen was well-stocked with condiments and so on -- a quick stop in... More

Very happy to hear you enjoyed your time here at Orveas Bay! Sadly for us, the hot tub gazebos will need to be replaced after the winter storms... So if you come now you can sit under the stars! Thanks for your kind words... we shall pass along your thanks to Inge our housekeeper... .. More

We stayed in the Port cottage, although I stayed in the Starboard with my mom a few years ago. Both are heavenly. The kitchens are well equipped (I like being able to cook whatever I want), the fireplace was lovely, the cottage beautiful and well thought out. The hot tub is heaven, really very private a few steps from the... More

It is always nice to have returning guests... they know the lay of the land! Yes, the hot tub is a pleasure to enjoy on those wet rainy days after spending time outdoors. The Sheringham light house is the most ideal location to view the Swiftsure Racers coming around the point on the long weekend May. Also a great place for... More

We stayed in the Port Cottage for a week, great place, nice and quiet, great view of the ocean, lots of ships to watch. Inside the cottage is very clean and set up very well with a little kitchen and large windows to look out while taking it easy on the couch. The property sits well above the shore line,... More

Thank you for your lovely review. You are just the type of guests we love! So appreciative of the area and the cottage. Yes, the stairs are a chore but take your time and enjoy the quiet rain forest... thanks and hope you can come again! More

I agree with dragonflydreams. Those of us that have discovered Orveas Bay want to keep it all to ourselves. We were fortunate enough to spend 7 wonderful days in the Starboard Cottage this September. The cottage itself was so charming and cozy - and absolutely spotless. A beautiful view overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We absolutely loved the... More

I almost hesitate to write this review (as I want it all to myself!!) . . . we had two blissful days in the Port Cottage with all its amenities (personal hot tub, BBQ and workable kitchen, gas fireplace, comfy bed with ocean views, & never ending natural beauty) . . . a fabulous place to unwind and "unplug" (no... Thank you for your terrific review! Really great to hear from our guests who come to experience Canada's beautiful west coast .. Just over an hours drive from Victoria to spend time in the west coast wilderness, As you have likely read the numerous guest book remarks but many guests are hesitant to write to Trip advisor as they think... Travelling on the main road, Orveas Bay Resort is not easy to find for the first time visitor as there is no signage whatsoever. Turning off following the instructions we had received and driving down a narrow little road, we found an entrance which left us wondering what to expect inside. What a treat lay in store. We were directed... More

This accommodation is a real gem. Hidden away outside of Sooke, you really feel like you are away from it all. We stayed in the Starboard cottage for 2 nights. The view is simply fantastic. The cottage has everything you need to be able to cook (i.e. plates, utensils etc) as well as great extras such as the basics (herbs,... More

The accommodations are unique and clean. While there is limited access to WIFI, no cable/satellite, and no cell coverage; we couldn’t ask for a better place to relax. There are times when you need to disconnect from the world and recharge. Orveas Bay Resort is great base for day tripping or just enjoying this expansive property. Our whole family left... More
