Northern Lights is a little gem to be found just outside of Wawa, on Highway 17. We arrived there and were greeted by the owners. We were given our rooms and what lovely rooms they were too. Upon entering the bathroom, we were indeed met by the rubber duck sitting on the side of the bath, and the bathroom was... More

Easily the most fun motel we've ever stayed at. The little touches keep us coming back, and the excellent breakfast selection makes me look forward to staying there on the way through Northern Ontario. Thanks Moe and John!

We stayed two separate nights in July 2013. The room was exactly as stated and very clean. There was no road noise at night. Breakfast was great and we appreciated it being free. It was great to have satellite tv service. The hosts were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

We were really impressed with the room and all the little, thoughtful extras that were available. The included breakfast made for a good start to the day. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Highway noise was not an issue. Very spacious bathrooms. Loved the little readings throughout the motel room and breakfast area. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped here on our way from Toledo, last July, to our fishing camp in Jellicoe, as a place to stay. The room was clean, well maintained, but dated. The owners obviously took pride in their place and it was a nice, clean, basic room to spend the night. I enjoyed the little things they had posted on the walls... More

From Notes: Very personable helpful manager (John Parker); picture of room in front truly representative of the room; excellent price for a kitchenette; very clean and well-maintained; very little road noise considering how close it was to Trans Canada Highway; plenty of parking; excellent breakfast included.

This seasonally-open motel (May to October) is a terrific place to stay. It was highly recommended by friends. We stayed in a very clean, spacious and well-maintained motel unit with pride of ownership. Lots of personal touches by the owners and many helpful and useful signs, amusing anecdotes and instructions posted throughout the room to add to the welcoming feel... More

My son and I stayed at this property on our way out west.. It's a typical motel layout , and a bit out of town. However the rooms are excellent. All facilities are provided (satellite TV, etc). Many items you wouldn't expect are provided and identified/explained by a cute note . Lots of material regarding the area is provided ....... More

Only spent one night on our way to Atikokan further north and were pleasantly surprised. Maureen is a lovely gal - hard worker and the place shows it. We did not get a chance to meet John, but his wife made up for it. The rooms are very clean, beds comfortable and the whimsy all about - jokes tacked everywhere... More

Northern Lights was a great stop over. Stayed 2 nights and loved it. Maureen and John are great. Maureen was great with giving directions and suggestions of what to see and take pictures of. Rooms were very good, clan and very well maintained. If you are looking for a 5 star Toronto or Chicago Hotel, you are not going to... More
