Booked into hotel on short notice on trip to Central Nfld from St. Johns so as not to be driving at night with moose on the hwy. We took a room on first floor which was accessible in a round about way but it was perfect with parking in front of our door. We didn't even need to bring all... More

My father and I stayed at Hotel Gander for three nights, arriving late on our first night after flying from Halifax. Check-in was quick and we were happy to each have a clean and an extremely comfortable double bed. Our room was clean and spacious and included an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, clock radio and coffee maker. After having read... More

I recently stayed here with a bus tour group. Although the property was reminscent of an old school with portapack attachments, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was phenomenal, super friendly, helpful, and caring. We were greeted with punch and cookies on our arrival. The hotel was clean and provided everything we needed, even laundry facilities. The washer cost, but... More

Our family spent a night here on our way across Newfoundland. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel is an average place, nothing special. It is close to airport and is located on Trans Canada Highway so is convenient to get on and off your route. We didnt use any facilities as is was just a place to catch some sleep

This is the kind of hotel one wants after a long day of driving, hiking, or otherwise being busy. It is just off Trans Canada Highway, near the airport and close to good restaurants. It is not pretty but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Rooms are quiet, wifi works fine, water pressure great, and even towels are decent size. Check in... More

Weather changed our plans to be out on Bonavista for the evening and we decided to go on as far as we could on the TCH in order to make Port aux Basque the following day. Fog and fatigue made the choice to stay in Gander and the Gander Hotel was right on the TCH. Staff was very welcoming and... More

Very average hotel, I believe its another Steele Hotel. All of their hotels are getting old now and need some renovations and updating. There is a pool and a restaurant which you can use. Pool is small but good to cool off or occupy children.

Stayed for 3 nights. beds super comfy and lots of pillows. On 2nd floor facing hwy but didnt find it overly noisy. Only complaint is no fridge. Manager very diligent, seems to be everywhere we went, very helpful with directions, suggestions, etc. Felt very comfortable leaving a trailer parked in the parking lot, as manager certainly was keeping eye on... The condition of the room and the building in general leave much to be desired for this price point (135$/night). To begin as you pull up you will notice that this building looks like an old hospital or possibly some military barracks. The outside is completely covered in steel roofing panels with window mounted A/C units. The A/C units are... More

Hi thank you for your review, as you mention regarding the entrance to the front of building it do need some better curb appeal, this we are looking into for a future upgrade. As for the A/C units in the window, we do have rooms available with built in A/C units, however all of those rooms were rented the night... More

Clean rooms, and friendly staff. The bed was very comfy. Hotel was close to all amenities in town ! Rooms are modern and a fair size. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was ever so yummy, and the staff there was very welcoming. Will stay here again !!
