The hotel was ok but not wonderful, the Manager on the other hand is the most ignorant human I have ever come across. I would not stay at this hotel ever again, even if it was the only one in town. Terrible customer service for a town that relies soley on tourism.. Recently stayed at the Algonquin for our annual... More

Beautiful Victorian style hotel in one of the most picturesque towns in Atlantic Canada. The staff is friendly; the food is top-quality albeit a little on the expensive side for family purposes. Be prepared to spend at this hotel, but know that your money was not wasted.

We have read several negative reviews for this hotel, but we really liked it. A short walk to downtown area. They do not have a restaurant on site, but have a sister inn called the Kennedy. 10% off for those who stay at the St. Andrews. Beautiful view, sit on the balcony and sip a glass of wine. State of... Stayed here one night. The only selling points for this property was that it had outside balconies that were directly waterfront and the rooms were large. I left my contact info. to speak with the manger but did no hear from anyone at the property. Rooms are old musty and outdated. We sat on our balcony but had to dodge... More

The room I had was nowhere near as dingy as one of the reviewers found, though not the most posh I've stayed in. Comfortable and clean, and that view from the balcony overlooking the harbor is worth every penny of their reasonable rate. Owners are warm and friendly, and St. Andrews is a great location off the beaten path for... More

We stayed one night and moved on for the second. Lovely view but the room was 80's dated. Old dusty carpet, old room. Didn't have extra pillows and managed to scrounge up an extra towel. I did not travel 1500 Km's to this. We only stayed the 1 night. Our bed mates were the local earwigs and a few relatives... More

I wish we could have stayed longer as the hotel was so beautiful and historic. The town is full of lovely shops. The room itself was extremely large and the bathroom which was renovated was full of high end finishes. The view not so great but you can get a view for more money. We decided to do the breakfast... Not impressed. Website pictures very deceiving. Old, cheap carpeting, thumpy, creaky floor sounds from rooms around us, extremely small bathroom and vanity?area. Old bedding. Stained, musty smelling towels. No phone in room, hair blower didn't work, one box of cheap tissues. Only good thing is the view and the closeness to shops, and the wharf.

The Algonquin was booked with weddings in early August so I ventured to the ST. Andrews Motor Inn. Nice room with great lookout off the deck on the bottom floor. Sunsets were wonderful. The hotel is within walking distance of everything on the main street including the dock where there are three or four whale watching companies and a deep... More

The room had food on the floor from previous guests and blood stains on the bedspread. The front desk young lady seemed bored and disinterested when we checked in. In the morning the only people eating the coffee and donuts were the housekeping staff, who were discussing their evening plans while sitting on the couches in the lobby. I spoke... More
