“glad that it is not as bavarian as it sounds and the coffee is great”

being from austria it is quite a shock when you arrive at kimberley as it feels a bit like a touristic village in the mountains at home, at first sight at least. apfelstrudel and bratwurst everywhere... the Alpen Gasthaus sounds very bavarian but in fact is not and I was really glad about this. Nice, clean, for a reasonable price... More

As my family was traveling from Calgary, AB to Nelson, BC, we decided to spend the night in Kimberely, BC. We stayed at this very comfortable, clean, convenient and affordable bed and breakfast in the town of Kimberely that I would recommend to any traveler. This was simply the best place we stayed at in Canada this year! The family (me, my husband, two sons - aged 8 and 11 - and my mother) travelled around the Rockies in May and found this B&B to be our favourite.
