We had a great time and the owners were sweet and accommodating! It felt like being at home! We were traveling with a large group including 4 children but the innkeepers were understanding and welcoming. They were so good with the kids!

Thank you Marion and Don for a wonderful stay. This house is so magnificent. Both my husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine in the parlour with so many beautiful items to look at and Marion was a delight to talk to. She gave us a few places to go for dinner, which I might add are in walking... More

This octagonal room was truly like a garden of eden, with floral baseboards, and lovely watercolor paintings. I loved the morning light coming through the leaded glass window. The hosts were friendly, and the morning conversation over French toast was in French and English, with some very interesting travelers. We were encouraged to leave via the Thousand Island parkway, instead... More

Thanks for enjoying Sleepy Hollow. We like to show off the part of Ontario that we think is the most beautiful part of the province. Not only the 1000 Islands, but the lakes and trails that are so close. Don More

My wife and I were meeting dear friends of ours from Perth, Western Australia for a two week tour of Ontario and western New York state and we wanted this visit to be perfect for them....us too : ). Our friends wanted to visit the 1,000 Island region, so I counted on my good old Trip Advisor site to help... More

We stayed in the Tara Suite in July. Everything (breakfast, hospitality) was great except two complaints: 1) No A/C in the room. The house supposedly has central air, but either it wasn't on or it couldn't bring the temperature down since the room door was closed. I had trouble sleeping because of the heat; even with all windows opened there... More

As a rule, I'm really not a fan of the B&B concept, but I'm warming to the idea, thanks to a lovely stay at the award-winning Sleepy Hollow B&B a few weeks ago. The house itself, built in 1905, is a lovingly restored 3-floor home, surrounded by mature shade trees, that offers a blend of upscale charm and comfy informality.... More

My first opinion of a bed and breakfast is how it looks. I love old buildings and this one was old with a lot of character. The host told us the story about it at breakfast. Our room was hexagonal - very cool! Lots of light, lots of room and our own large bathroom next door. The house and neighbourhood... More

We just completed our second visit to Gananoque and staying in the Avonlea room. We were again wowed by that incredibly delicious croissant French toast for breakfast! Thanks again, Don and Marion for sharing your beautiful home and hospitality--as well as for ordering our tickets to two plays at the 1000 Islands Playhouse.

House was wonderful and our room was large and clean but no common area for relaxation after a busy day. No television in the room or anywhere that was available to us and the wifi was to slow to watch anything. Every bed and breakfast we have stayed in have always offered a little fridge to put water in or... More

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the house and the breakfast, but surprised that you walked past the common area several times and didn't take advantage of the huge double parlour or the billiard area at the top of the stairs or the library where the TV is located. We have two fridges in the kitchen so that... More

The house is located very close to the Gananoque boat cruise in lovely grounds. It's a huge house with various sitting rooms, a pool table, books to borrow, and many amenities outside of the beautifully appointed rooms. The breakfast was lovely and its presentation exceptional. We stayed in the Atlantis room which looks just like the pictures. Our only complaint... More

Thanks for the review. We discovered an incorrect setting just after the AC was serviced. Had we discovered it sooner your sleep would have been better...sorry for that...and sorry for the extra loud guest, we don't have any way to "screen" those guests. Don More
