I reserved 1 night at the Chantecler with my wife and 2 daughters. This used to be our place when our daughters were young teenagers; kind of a yearly retreat during Easter to relax and spend some quality time only the four of us (usually 2 or even 3 nights). My wife and I went also alone many times. Overall,... More

The place is well equipped with emenities that can keep you busy. The stay was very affordable, clean and we had access to trails and walked around the ice lake and warmed up to a fire outside. You can skate, snowshoe, everything is 5 minutes away even if you decide to access outdoor activities.

Stayed in Rustic Rooms - very Rustic indeed! Slanted and creaky floor, busted box spring on one bed, older bathroom, more like something you would find in an old cottage/cabin. Old tube TV that we hadn't seen in years - the kids thought it was funny! Overall, the hotel looks old and in need of a good facelift. Wouldn't stay... More

After many years I returned to Le Chantecler this week and was very disappointed. Once a centre piece of the Laurentians it is now an outdated, rundown dump in need of serious investment or the wrecking ball. From the lack of a bell man to help with bags upon arrival to the surly attitude of the front desk person the... More

This hotel is old and falling appart. A piece of metal felt from the ceiling in our room and could of easily fall on someone's head. We were supposedly on the newest part of the hotel so I can't imagine the old part. Bathroom tiles were all broken, not possible to get ice in any of the ice machines. Even... More

I booked the room by phone, asked for the room with the view on the lake in the part of Chauteau named Seigneurie. Arrived and got a room in Auberge, the furthest corner with windows on the wall of bushes. Part C, the simpliest, cheapest part located the most far from the pool, restaurant, lake etc. They explaned that Seigneurie... More

Looking for a hotel that was very close to the Grand Place, but this one was a little further than expected. The outside looked "ghetto" and the surrounding neighbourhood didn't leave me feeling confident in my choice. The room was smaller than the pictures led on and not enough outlets to charge the two phones and camera we brought with... More

a Classic hotel but needs major renovations. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel was beautiful many years ago but feels like a blast from the past. A breakfast was available but not worth the extra money.

Perhaps it is because we asked for a room overlooking the lake and perhaps all those rooms have not been refurbished, but our room apart from being quite small and was definitely showing signs of many years of occupancy. Getting to the room itself was not very clear, the first elevator we took, a service elevator, lead us to maintenance... More
