For lovers of calm settings, this takes the prize: it is as quiet a place as we have ever experienced! It provides an outstanding to relax, from the pressures of big city living or whatever. The setting in the middle of nature, with glorious views over a small lake, is breathtaking, and all the more remarkable as the spacious house... More

We stayed as a couple for 3 nights and really loved it. Louise is an excellent host. She treats you like family but makes sure you enjoy your privacy as well. We stayed in St Germain. The room is very spacious and we slept great. The views around the building are lovely. Despite the rainy weather, we still swam in... More

We selected this spot based on online reviews -- and everyone who gave it a thumbs up was 100% right. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived, when Louise greeted us at the door and treated us like family. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and breakfast wonderful. In the evening we dined at restaurants in the village that... More

My husband and loved it, the location is amazing; you feel right at home, the hosts are just great. The attention to every detail in the decor makes this place really cute and cozy. The morning breakfast was also great. We came back home so relax. We highly recommend it.

My husband and I visited this B&B as part of a weekend break from the city. We were made to feel very welcome from the first moment we arrived. The room was very clean and comfortable and we had a great view. The house is in special location - it appears to be built 'on rocks' and is surrounded by... More

Looking out from the windows of this gracious post and beam bed and breakfast one can easily get lost in the beauty of the bucolic river and pine forest scene that spreads before you. The private swimming hole and small falls on the property are a delight that renew and refreash. Hosts Louise and Olivier offer a warm welcome and... More

We spent a weekend at l'Oree du bois and it's all that we could have wished for. Louise welcomed us in the way my grand-ma used to. It barely takes you a second to feel right at home. She will go out of her way to make you as confortable as possible and, so is her son, James-Olivier. He was... More

We went to this hotel last week and we were very disappointed with the rooms. They have been redone but it lacks decoration and the charm it used to have. The beds are not comfortable and we were anxious to return home to have some rest; we even considered sleeping on the floor since it would have been more comfortable.... More

Management response:

Dear guest, we are sorry for the bad experience you seem to have had with us and thank you for the feedback. We sould reaaly like to help and comment, but feel perhaps this is a case of mistaken identity. Please understand we normally don't get such negative reviews and are very focused on solving the issues. It would help... More

Spent two nights with extended family as a mini-reunion. The property is very large and private, yet so close to Montreal. The natural setting was a beautiful place to relax as a family, and all eleven of us were able to sleep comfortably in the four main rooms plus suite, all of which were well appointed and perfectly clean. Hosts... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are located in the Laurentians, 50 minutes north of Montreal and 5 minutes from the lovely town of Sainte-Adèle. The planning and design of "À l'orée du bois" has a country inn feel, more than a B&B, in that the owners' quarters are completely separate.A big part of our reputation are our breakfasts. Coffee, juices, fruits, a variety of breads and home made jams, are followed by one of the house specialties. Whether you choose the eggs benedict, avocado and cheese omelettes, or our ''Croque-monsieur'' sandwich, we feel confident you won't have to lunch soon after.Nestled on an undevelopped river, our 5 ½ acres of landscaped property offers numerous footpaths, access to our watercrafts, cascades and natural swimming pool. Easy chairs are located in strategic areas for your relaxation and wildlife observation. Deer, moose, beaver, herons, ducks and other wildlife can often be seen. In winter snowshoeing and x-country skiing can be practiced from the property. ... more   less
