We were fortunate enough to stay at this hotel for 3 nights during our week in Provence. It is just a lovely hotel. Amazingly beautiful grounds with unbelievable aromas from the flowers flowing over the balcony. The dining area is sublime with a very cozy patio overlooking a pond, and the pool is just perfect to relax underneath gorgeous shade... More

I am surprised to read of peoples' dislike of the decor at this hotel as we found it to be of a very high standard. We were upgraded to a junior suite and it was beautifully decorated with new furnishings. It had definite Laura Ashley overtones so perhaps this style was not to their taste. (I love it).The bathroom had obviously... More

We were so excited to visit this hotel, but it is clearly living on past reputation, like a grande old dame whose beauty has faded. Rooms are dark, uninspiring, unexceptional and everything just looks and feels tired. The pool is so 1970's which is when I think this may have been last redecorated. Do not waste your precious time and... More

We reserved a suite and were given #47. While it is quite spacious it is dark and very musty smelling. Opening the two small windows helped just a little. The creaking steps and long dark hallway on the way to the room put us in mind of old army barracks. #47 is on the second floor and has an uninviting... More

I am pleased you appreciated the grounds as well as our personnel service. I am surprised by your comments about the room as it was completely refurbished last winter. However I take into account your remarks and will make sure all this points are solved immediately. I am sorry your stay did not meet with your expectations. Jean-André Charial More

The grounds of this hotel are beautiful as are the terraces of most ground floor rooms. I only wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more great food. My beautiful room and the elegant, yet informal gardens. The service was great as well.

"La Cabro d'Or" is a very nice place to stay at. But, like other people have stated, it doesn't feel 5-star. The hotel grounds are superb and there a lot of nice pathways. Lots of green, lots of peace and quiet, beautiful view of the surrounding hills/mountains, idyllic pond with ducks and swans... everything you'd dream of in the Provence... More

After my husband inadvertently missed the email confirming our two-night stay, we only were able to grab one night here before transferring to another nearby hotel on night #2. Although the rooms were lovely and the restaurant exquisite, the greatest asset for me was the onsite Spa and the excellent service there. Though ridiculously expensive compared to US spa treatments,... More

Having cycled several Kms uphill and into a strong wind from Fontvieille we eventually arrived at the cliff below the village of Les-Baux-de-Provence. We were so tired we fell off the bikes but by more luck than navigation we were at the entrance to La Cabro d'Or. A 50 meter freewheel downhill to the friendly reception where we were welcomed... Wether you like this hotel or not will depend on your purpose. If you go here for business it may not be ideal. Being a business traveller you want swift checkin, all English personnel and a connection to the outside world. In this respect La Cabro d'or barely scores a "pass". If you go here for a relaxing holiday, this... More

I attended La Cabro d'Or early October for business. I wasnt impressed with the 5* rating as the place needed to be better kept outside for example there isnt much signage or way of outdoor lighting and the grass was in desperate need of a cut. Not the high levels I would expect for 5 star. The waiting staff were... More
