A somewhat quirky hotel with a most amusing and very helpful owner. We 'heartily' recommend it! If you are going to Drumheller stay at the Heartwood Inn. We had the Upper Turret room (?) and it was a good choice.

We arrived at the back of an unassuming looking house (with the exception of a life size Raptor in the yard) so my expectations were low. But the moment we met the host, we knew we picked a good place to stay as he took literally 30 minutes getting us acquainted with the town. And upon hearing that we are... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while exploring the badlands of Alberta on a road trip. It is in the perfect location to see all the sights of this wonderful area. The Heartwood is a converted large old prairie home with beautiful gardens and lots of shady areas to get out of sun. We had a large... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Pinewood Room at the Heartwood Inn for one night as we were on our way to camping. It was a perfect, cozy size, with a huge Jacuzzi (next to a frosted window for watching the moon/thunderstorms/sunrise), fridge, TV, and large bed. The furniture and decor were all very beautiful; lots of wood and... More

Well Zeke enjoy the read!....from first contact on the phone to book a get-away, to our comfy relaxing room, to out short chats... Patrice and Zeke made this one of our favorite stops. From nicely appointed rooms to the relaxing Gardens it will be the spot for you...don't go expecting a chain motel ambiance but rather go expecting a respectful... More

We stayed in the Pinewood room for one night - it was the perfect size and atmosphere for a cozy, romantic getaway. The large, relaxing tub, air conditioning, and privacy from neighbouring properties were all enjoyable bonuses. It was such a quiet night that we were surprised in the morning at the breakfast table to learn that at least ten... More

Tired of chain hotels, I am stepping outside the box and choosing more intimate places like Heartwood. I was travelling alone and appreciated the walk through of the inn and explanations of the safety doors. They lock up at 11. You can come and go any time but it's not open for anybody to walk in. The back door is... More

We stayed in the Cottage for two nights, the price was good, the room was very clean well set up had some decent antique furniture the jacuzzi tub was great! The owner was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful, gave some great recommendations for restaurants in the town and they did not disappoint. I would definitely stay here again.

The six of us (four adults and two preschoolers) stayed in the family vacation bungalow for two nights. Recently re-roofed the TV was not functioning, but the owner was happy to lend us his DVDs. There is one bedroom with a queen bed plus one sofa bed in the living area (not comfortable for sleeping) and one sofa bed in... More

As stated on their website, the Heartwood is an inn, not a bed and breakfast. However, if there are enough guests, and Zeke is in the mood, he makes an excellent French toast breakfast for $10 per person. When we stayed two nights in the Main Turret room in late May, we didn’t know beforehand if breakfast would be available.... More
