We got to this place and it seemed really sketchy but we were open minded. But when we were shown our room we found that the mattresses were just on the floor and the bed sheets hadn't been changed. There were hairs on the bed and it was obvious that it hadn't been cleaned. As well as being unclean it... More

If I wasn't on vacation I would go to a doctor and then a lawyer. I have picture of bed bug bites from this rental place on McKay by Metrotown Mall. I went to bed at 10:45 pm and woke up at 230 am because I was bitten by bed bugs. Is obvious to me that they did not even... More

The way that the rooms look online and want they actually look like are so different! The bed I refused to lay had a box-spring that was on the floor, dirty yellowed pillowcases and a roll of toilet paper on the bed. An exposed bed on the floor is a red flag and a heck no. The host also tried... More

I stayed here for a week and thought it was excellent. It was quiet, and the staff there was very accommodating and pleasant. I particularly liked the fact that this hostel's location was close to a major mall and Sky-Train, which made travel around the city very accommodating. I would certainly go back.

Just briefly summarizing. We encountered bed bugs in this place and one week after our stay in this place we noticed traces of scabies in our skin. The booking of the place via phone was a sketchy process. The place was very unclean, unpleasant and noisy, though the guests and staff were cheerful and the neighborhood was quite nice. It... More

As mentioned in other reviews, you may be told to come to one property, but be moved somewhere else upon arrival of the staff member. So yeah, they took me from a house to an apartment building, which was even closer to skytrain and shops, so no complaints. Now this is not a typical hostel, it is more of a... More

Was comfortable enough. Bed was ok and everything was clean. Staff were lovely- all very relaxed and easy going. Good location for train and Metrotown. Pizza and vietnamese food close by. Good budget accommodation

This hostel is actually a house in a neighborhood close to Skytrain, a HUGE shopping center, and a library. The staff was very helpful (and apologetic when we had to wait on towels). You take off your shoes upon entry which we thought was kind of charming in a very homey way, and there are two kitchens-one upstairs and one... More

This is one of my favourite hostels I've ever been to. This was my first time in Canada and the staff made me feel very comfortable by giving an overview of all the attractions in the area and the places I should avoid. They recommended a Greek restaurant called Stefos in the city which was delicious and a great value!... More

Personally I enjoyed my 3 night stop here, after 2 weeks of Downtown city hostels it was a nice change to stay somewhere quiet and relaxed, very homely. However it's definitely not for everyone, the area (burnaby) is a typical suburban sprawl ie. safe and friendly however there is not a lot to do in the area. A 10 minute... More
