My family spent 4 nights in Cottage 8, a nicely renovated cottage next to the lake. The view couldn't have been more beautiful, and the cottage was in good condition with attractive furniture etc. There was even a nice large bathtub. It's worth noting that the food was good. We prepared our own breakfasts and lunches in our cottage, but... More

A very pleasant place to rent boats, kanoes and kayaks. We went out on the beautifull Strathcona Lake with a couple of kayaks and had a great afternoon. The staff is very helpfull and welcoming. We would definitely go back here.

We recently had the pleasure of attending a wonderful wedding here. While the accommodation may not be the most modern the wonderful scenery certainly makes up for it.. The food we had pre wedding ie bbq on the beach was fantastic - the food on the wedding day equally impressive. The only downside was the ignorant older lady who served... More

Went here on a staff retreat and consider this to be glamping. It's a bit like camping but more glamorous. Don't expect luxury though. As long as that doesnt bother you then you should have a great time. The activities guides are wonderful and the food is very good (be prepared for organic, quinoa, and home made type foods). The... Skeptical when we first arrived...felt a bit like summer camp! Several group of younger children up to young adults were at the lodge completing one form or another of outdoor training, but as guests we were given specific tables to sit at during meal times, water service, wait staff, etc. (for the first meal we didn't know this and followed... I have a lot stress in my job, so I was looking forward finding a place away from the city that has a balcony view of lakes and mountains where I can sit for hours staring at the view relaxing. When I found Strathcona Lodge online, I was so excited that I was telling everyone about it. When my wife... More

My wife and I were here to attend a wedding and we enjoyed our limited time. No phones or TV here, just good quality time with family. The room was rustic and comfortable. Very quiet at night and we had a great view during the day. The food was fresh and healthy. We had another wedding down the island the... More

I just wanted to tell you briefly about the wonderful place Strathcona is for a wedding. We got married in August last year and can't describe how magical it was. We recently got our video back which was expertly done by Paul Christopher and it showed the scenery in all its glory. Beyond the venue the staff were amazing too,... More

We had a family reunion here several years ago for about 50 people. The staff was fantastic and helpful. We have many fond memories and can't wait to go back! We hiked, zip lined, kayaked, and had a fantastic salmon bake dinner for the whole family. The only advice is to wear pants when you are sitting by the campfire... More

This place is totally beautiful! The cottage sits right on the lake with a view over the wooded peaks of Vancouver Island. We were a family of 5 and stayed in Cottage 8 which had a full kitchen, as well as 2 baths and 2 bedrooms and fold out couch. We hiked and rented motorboats to explore the lake. It... More
