I just finished an amazing 6 day sea kayaking with the owners Jamie and Tina. It was amazing, I came here from Newfoundland to meet up with my aunt. We stayed an extra day on either end and the food was amazing and the swimming there was so refreshing. The trip itself was beyond the expectations I had. With no... More

we asked about motor boat rentals when we booked and were assured that we could rent one, so we got a fishing liscence. when we checked in we were told the rates to rent one. when we went to rent one...we were told there was only one to rent and it was leaky so not advised and they wanted full... Just finished a 5 day sea kayak trip with the owners of the Lodge, Tina and Jamie. Gave my niece from Newfoundland and myself a once in a lifetime grand tour from Tutankhamen Marina to Homeis. Wildlife galore - sea lions, otters, humpbacks, oyster catchers, and orcas. Sandy beaches and dynamic ocean waves. No flies and lots of laughter. No... More

Staff not very interested in interacting or telling you basic info. Very expensive for what you get. Nickel-and-dimed on extras like rentals and activities. This really is glamping at a 'lodge' rate! The only positive is that there is fantastic hiking in the Butle Lake area but not worth staying here to access.

We spent 5 nights at the Strathcona Park Lodge and left, very reluctantly, after a wonderful few days. We had travelled from Scotland hoping to sample some Canadian wilderness together with decent food and comfortable accommodation during our Canada holiday. We got more than we hoped for - fabulous view from the comfortable room; great healthy and hearty food; and... More

My family of five recently spent three delightful nights at the Strathcona Park Lodge. We were looking for a quiet, fun, and family-friendly getaway on Vancouver Island, and the lodge did not disappoint! First of all, the weather and scenery were gorgeous. Although a recent drought has reduced lake levels noticeably, dropped waterfall flows to a trickle and led to... More

Thank you for staying with us! Cottage 7 is one of the original historical bunkhouses, and during this extra hot summer we have been building and retro-fitting screens for a number of the early buildings' windows. Some of course are easier to do than others, but we will have a look and see what other screens can be added. Next... More

My family spent 4 nights in Cottage 8, a nicely renovated cottage next to the lake. The view couldn't have been more beautiful, and the cottage was in good condition with attractive furniture etc. There was even a nice large bathtub. It's worth noting that the food was good. We prepared our own breakfasts and lunches in our cottage, but... More

Thank you for your kind comments and for staying with us. Yes, we are blessed to welcome guests to this beautiful spot! We do try to let all of guests know if they will be at the Lodge at the same time as another larger group or celebration. Our accommodation is eclectic, and we encourage people to call or email... A very pleasant place to rent boats, kanoes and kayaks. We went out on the beautifull Strathcona Lake with a couple of kayaks and had a great afternoon. The staff is very helpfull and welcoming. We would definitely go back here.

We recently had the pleasure of attending a wonderful wedding here. While the accommodation may not be the most modern the wonderful scenery certainly makes up for it.. The food we had pre wedding ie bbq on the beach was fantastic - the food on the wedding day equally impressive. The only downside was the ignorant older lady who served... More

I am delighted to hear you enjoyed our wonderful picturesque location and the celebratory BBQ and banquet for your friends' recent wedding. Went here on a staff retreat and consider this to be glamping. It's a bit like camping but more glamorous. Don't expect luxury though. As long as that doesnt bother you then you should have a great time. The activities guides are wonderful and the food is very good (be prepared for organic, quinoa, and home made type foods). The... We are delighted that you and your co-workers chose Strathcona for your retreat, especially given that your home region has so much similar to offer - great wilderness experiences, food and cultural traditions. All the best to you. Christine Clarke Executive Director More
