Waterfront location with wonderful views over Discovery Passage but motel is situated right on Island Highway which has constant traffic and is noisy. It’s some way out of town but easy flat walking along the waterfront – 15/20 minutes to downtown and at least 40 minutes to main Discovery Harbour shopping centre, Riptide pub etc. We appreciated the early checkin... My wife and I stayed at the Above Tide motel for one night on our way back to Victoria. Our room was actually a suite of several rooms including a bedroom, a bathroom, a small kitchen, and a living room area with a balcony overlooking the Strait of Georgia. (Note - it appears from other reviews that not all rooms... More

We booked the motel after a series of excellent reviews, and then it received some pretty bad ones. We found it to be a fairly standard motel, with large, clean rooms, all of which have a balcony and a fantastic view out to the sea. You can park outside your room. There is free WiFi, and coffee was provided. The... More

We were looking for a basic place to stay for 1 night at a reasonable price. That's what we got and nothing more, except of course for the lovely view from the verandah. Motel is the old style concrete block construction. Room furnishings are well worn and past their best before date. The owner does keep the place freshley painted... More

We recently rented 3 rooms on a motorcycle trip to the north part of Vancouver Island. Using Campbell River as home base, we stayed 2 nights at this motel. It is basic but clean. We could park our bikes in front of our rooms. Two of the rooms were on the upper floors and 1 room was on the lower... More

Highlight of this little property are the views overlooking the water. Clean, spacious room with very friendly and helpful staff. Furnishings were dated and worn especially given the price. Also, a bit of a hike (20-30 minutes) from Campbell River restaurants and attractions. But certainly a nice option in Campbell River.

This place does indeed have a good view of the water, but it is completely wasted because you won't actually want to spend anytime in your spartan, institutional smelling room. The walls are painted cinderblock, the beds are barely passable, the furniture is plywood and the highway is conveniently located only a few feet from your front door so you... More

We booked an upper floor room after reading a trip advisor report and we were not disappointed. Our balcony overlooked the Johnson Strait so we saw several cruise ships bound for Discovery Passage glide silently past each evening. The view was stunning. Tea was taken on the balcony in the sun every morning. By the afternoon the sun had moved... More

The view is great, top floor a wee bit better. It's older but clean. Easy walk to town. It has new wi-fi system so worked for us. We've had great service from receptionist Gwen, that brought us back, she is helpful, caring and humerous.

Great rate quality/price. The rooms have a very big windows with a fantastic view on the sea, clean and quiet. The only bad thing is that our room was far from reception and the wi-fi connetion not arrived till our room (so we cannot use it). Staff was not able to solve it and not so available to find a...
