We were in Castlegar for a hockey tournament and decided to try Windborne B&B rather than stay in a hotel. What a fantastic decision on our part! Our stay was peaceful, relaxing and a lovely treat after spending our days in a hockey rink. The breakfast was delicious and our visits with Marc and Mirja were lovely. I highly recommend... More

Its rare and always a treat to find a B&B open in the fall/winter season! Our travels don't stop with the warm weather and we were happy to find the warm lights of the Windborne residence as we drove down the riverside road late at night. The beds were comfy and the hosts, Marc and Mirja were inviting and personable.... More

Travelling for business can be exhausting - even worse when you end your day at a generic uncomfortable hotel. I never considered staying at a B&B, but after doing some research and reading reviews on Windborne B&B - I was sold. It was my first experience with B&Bs and it couldn't have been any better. Marc and Mirja were lovely... More

Recently I had the opportunity to stay at the Windborne B&B for 4 nights and it was a fantastic experience. Marc and Mirja were great hosts and the cooking was not only delicious but very creative in it's presentation - it was clear it was made with passion. I very much appreciated the comfortable bed and immaculate condition of the... More

This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in. I travelled to Castlegar with my wife - who was there on business - so we were both able to experience Marc and Mirja's beautiful home. Marc bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our visit, even preparing we had a delicious and healthy... More

Windborne is a quiet and comfortable place to stay. You even get to watch Marc feed the wild turkeys! Even though the mill is across the river from this place, you'd never know it. Besides its one of the world's most green mill. Marc will tell you all the good points. Have the Honeyed salmon omelet! Wow! No wonder he... More

Marc was very welcoming and personable. We shared his love for the wild turkeys and deer among the beautifully landscaped gardens. The body massage showers were a positive, new experience for us. The bed and bed linens were 10+. We enjoyed visiting with Marc while he prepared our breakfast with many special touches including the candied salmon/egg dish and the... More

The bed was as comfortable as any 4-5 star I have stayed in, and the body jet shower was exceptional. Breakfast was delicious and made right in front of my eyes while Marc and I chatted.
