We stayed at Hillside for 4 days while doing 2 weeks of day-hiking in the Canadian Parks. We needed sleeping arrangements for 5 and asked for a kitchen. Let me start by saying I have very mixed feelings regarding my stay.To make a long story short, if there are only 2 of you and you aren't planning to do any... More

We stayed one night, in a beautiful king-size room with balcony overlooking the Columbia River, with lovely garden and trees below. There was a very warm welcome from Sonja and Hubert (great cook!). Hummingbirds come to the feeder by the dining room window and other wildlife may be seen in the garden if you are lucky! Excellent breakfast included in... More

We were lucky to find this secluded hideaway some five years ago and have been going there for a summer get away ever since. We just wanted to let anyone reading this know that you will find the most precious place in the Rockies when you stay here. The views of the Blaeberry River and the mountains are the most... More

Stayed one night to break up the trip between Vancouver and Calgary. Great location with panoramic views from the balcony. Walked the grounds and down along the river. The room was comfortable and the lodge fit right into the mountainous locale. We ate dinner in the dinning room and it was very good. The service by the owners was friendly... More

You would think you arrived in Switzerland or Bavaria, with the picturesque chalets and meadows surrounded by majestic mountains. Hosts Hubert and Sonja are welcoming, the rooms with handcrafted furniture are charming, and the views from the lodge magnificent. The property is far enough off the highway to avoid road noise. Only disappointment was that the home cooked dinners were... More

Sonja and Hubert welcomed our family for a large gathering Thanksgiving weekend. The location, setting, experience, meal and genuine care from the hosts could not have been more perfect. We definitely shared in their little piece of heaven in Golden. Our entire family was able to be together for the whole weekend - from infants to grandparents, and all had... More

We booked this well in advance advising we had pets they said they welcomed pets their web suggested nothing regarding a pet fee and their email quoting the price did not have this fee attached where it clearly said we had a pet. On the last day checking out we were charged. We don't mind paying the fee but be... More

We only stayed one night and did not have the opportunity to eat or enjoy any of the surrounding amenities. We found the hosts to be very friendly and engaging. We had our two dogs with us and they were welcomed without any fuss (we notified in advance). Very simple, but well-appointed and cozy cabin; wood-stove, small galley kitchen with... More

After a highway delay starting on our roadtrip from Calgary, all problems and tensions were relieved when we arrived at the Hillside Chalets. Attractive cabin with a deck high above the river; good kitchen appointments to heat up our dinner to have on the deck; wine glasses for our wine; welcome and friendly management. After dinner, the resident dog escorted... More

Don't be dissuaded by ugly logging town of Golden nearby--this property is a great value and a very peaceful place to use as a base for Glacier National Park in Canada. All units ('chalets') have kitchen so you can cook here. Good thing, because there is nothing nearby. Glacier Park has amazing hiking and few tourists. Highly recommend this property!
